Even in war, there are moments that are beautiful.

As the sun set and stars rose on the strange jungle planet, Y/n couldn't help but awe at the beauty around her. How the native flora thrived, their leaves glistening in the light of the twin moons. How the rustling of grass and quiet calls tell what the fauna is doing. Even in the midst of all this bloodshed, beauty could still be found.

As she gazed out into the darkened forest, two arms quietly wrapped around her waist. Y/n jumped, quietly chuckling as Anakin Skywalker murmured a soft greeting, kissing her cheek.

"Everyone is asleep, my love," he whispered as he turned her to face him, "we can finally get some peace and quiet."

Y/n smiled softly, cupping her lover's cheek in her hand, "Orion said that beyond our camp is a small open alcove. Would you want to gaze at the stars with me?"

Anakin leaned into her touch, kissing her hand, "of course."

Hand-in-hand, the two jedi quietly snuck away from the camp, walking into the nearby open field. The area was perfect for stargazing, and the lovers laid on the ground, Y/n's head on Anakin's chest, their hands still intertwined.

"I wish we could do this more," Y/n whispered after a moment of silence, her gaze trained upon the thousands of stars decorating the night sky, "I wish that we didn't have to sneak off to be able to give each other affection."

"As do I, my star," Anakin replied, giving her forehead a quick kiss, "I want everyone to know that you're mine. So that people like that senator from Scipio don't flirt with you."

Y/n laughed, turning her head to look at Anakin, who was scowling just at the thought of someone else flirting with her, "Just as I want others to know you're mine. I admit that senator from Naboo does make my blood boil."

The two laugh, turning their bodies to lay on their sides, holding each other tight.

"Y/n," Anakin began, after the laughter had ceased, "when this war is over, I want to leave the order. I want to have a life with you- an open life- where we don't have to be afraid of the council's watchful eyes."

He looked away from her, slightly biting his lip almost nervously, after the confession left his lips.

"Ani," Y/n whispered, taking his face in her hands, "I want to have a life with you, too. I will follow you wherever you go, my love- and I will leave the order with you when this war is done."

Anakin grinned, his heart fluttering as the words fell from her soft lips. He then pushed his lips to hers in a soft, yet passionate kiss.

 She looped her arms around his neck as he settled his hands on her waist, "It's settled then," he whispered, before kissing her again briefly, "I love you to the universe and back, Y/n."

Y/n smiled, pressing another kiss to his lips, "To the universe and back, Anakin."
