Chapter Forty-Four: That One Looks Like You {Ellie}

Taylor, Scarlet, and I get strange looks as people wonder...Are those their boyfriends? Or their children?

It's understandable, seeing as the three adult males we've brought with us to the zoo today act like little boys, shoving and laughing and making fun of each other as they stand beside the gorilla exhibit.

"That one looks like you," Sebastian says to Asher, pointing at the large monkey with a scowl on his face. It seems like the monkeys are all ready for people to leave.

I can almost agree with them.

"I feel like I'm babysitting," Taylor laughs as Asher shoves Sebastian. Cole steps between the two boys, a child-like grin plastered on his face as he joins in the rough-housing. The three boys remind me of my brother and his friends when we were kids, the three of them having a blast as my parents just laughed along with them.

That was one of the better days of my childhood, before the crash.

"You're an ass," Asher laughs, pushing Cole jokingly.

We pass through a few more exhibits before they finally gather around the cage of the lions, the three boys talking animatedly as they stare. I come to a stop beside Cole, looking at the few cubs lying next to their mother, the lioness cleaning one of them as she holds him there.

In a flash, Cole's hands are around me, tingles erupting as he breathes me in.

After what happened last week, any time Cole even looks at me, I feel hot and nervous. The feeling of his fingers digging into my hip reminds me of the way he held me when I was on top of him, when he kept moving me along the hard length in his jeans...

I'm a human woman - I have needs, so this wasn't the first time I'd ever had an orgasm.

But there's nothing like receiving one from the man you're falling for.

My heart nearly stops beating in my chest as Cole runs his nose along the length of my neck. A shiver passes through me. I pull back slightly, looking into his eyes.

"Having fun?" he asks me, dark eyes the color of steel seeming to pierce right into my heart with just a look.

"I am," I breathe. "Are you?" He gives me a boyish grin that I wish I could frame and carry with me forever.

"I'm having a blast."

The fact that this brooding fighter who has an attitude from hell is having a great time today makes my heart happy, and I feel as though I could go to a thousand more zoos so long as he keeps that smile.

"Guys, there's a photo-booth!" Scarlet announces, rushing toward it. The rest of us follow, Cole's fingers lacing with mine as we walk. As soon as we're near, Scarlet takes mine and Taylor's hands and yanks us into the booth with her. I paint a smile on, but it feels easier than normal.

I guess that's due to Keenan's silence and Cole's presence.

"Boys! Get in here!" she calls. Soon, all six of us are squished into the booth, taking random, silly pictures. It feels like a scene from a movie, like it's not my real life. How could someone like me deserve friends like these?

As the last shutter begins, Sebastian sticks his tongue out, touching my cheek with it. I scrunch up my face, jerking away from him as he guffaws loudly, making fun of me. I swat at him, and it's my turn as he almost falls out of the booth.

"Alright, kids. We've got a line of people, I'm going to have to ask you to move on, as funny as it is to watch you all," a sudden voice booms, humor and authority mixed as a security officer pokes his head through the curtain.
