Chapter Sixty-Two: I Want You... Forever {Cole}
One Year Later
"Oh, what about this one?" Scarlet holds up a picture of a small sugar skull, but Taylor shakes her head. "Ugh, you guys are so picky."
"Of course we're picky, babe. It's gonna be on us forever. I don't want some girly sugar skull on me." I roll my eyes at the same time about four other people do. Asher makes a face of mock hurt.
"We're celebrating a graduation, so why wouldn't we get something related to that?" Seb asks as if it's that simple.
"What like a graduation cap? No, that's what everyone else is going to get."
I part from them, walking around and looking at the many designs on the wall, each one spectacular. As I gaze at a realistic set of playing cards, an idea comes to me. As a set of arms wrap around my torso, her chest pressing against my back, I feel my girl embrace me.
"You like any?"
"I like all of them," I admit, eyeing the many different pieces in the room. Turning in her arms, I hold Ellie close, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. Her blonde hair tickles my nose, and she laughs at me as I scrunch it, trying to stop myself from sneezing.
"You laughing at me?" I question, feigning seriousness.
"Not at all," she drawls, a sweet, sexy smile on her lips.
"Mhmm, sure." I lean closer, dodging her lips and dragging my nose down the length of her neck. Ellie shivers in my arms, fingers clenching my forearms as I hold her hips. "We'll who's laughing later tonight, baby."
The hint has her eyes widening, looking away from me in embarrassment. Despite the clear signs that she was totally unprepared for that comment, Ellie shifts on her feet, trying to hide the fact that she wants to press her legs together.
With a satisfied smile, I keep her from squirming, frustrating her even further.
Goddamn, Ellie, you're making me want to skip this damn tattoo and take you home right now.
I sit in one of the chairs before anyone can notice the hard-on I get as I imagine Ellie in my arms tonight, the same way she was last night and earlier today. Hell, I can practically hear her, feel each shiver and each strand of hair as I wrap it in my fist.
Fuck.
Now I'm hard as a rock in the middle of a damn tattoo shop.
Ellie sits on my lap, talking to Scarlet as she's unaware of what's going on beneath her. I sigh, forcing myself still as she continues her conversation. I wrap my arms around her, feeling her release a breath as she leans against me.
"What do you think, Cole? Any ideas?" Scar asks, sinking into a chair next to us.
As I glance back to the photo of the cards, I let my hand wander to Ellie's scar, her eyes turning to me in confusion.
"Yeah, actually, I think I might have one."
I tell the five of them my idea, the story behind it. Ellie looks as if she could cry by the end of it, so I quickly press my lips to hers. She smiles as she kisses me, and it sticks even as she pulls away.
"I love it," Ellie whispers.
A tattoo of a joker card.
It was never supposed to be part of the game...never supposed to have this impact on everyone.
A lot like Ellie... When I'd first met her, I hoped she'd be gone quickly. But now, I can't imagine my life without her.
I need her like I need to breathe.
