The calm before the storm

It soon became a routine for the siblings after that morning, (female name) would stay home and sort out the garden when she was sure no one was around, while (male name) would leave after 'attending' the garden, grab some breakfast and go to the Dragon Acadamy to learn more about dragons with his Deadly Nadder.

The only problem was that every day, the gang would ask him where his Sand Wraith dragon was, and every day he answered with the same thing, that 'it wouldn't be fair for her to be walking too much when she should be laying down and resting, besides, she could guard the house, and I made sure she had plenty of fish for her so she wouldn't run out'.

That was probably the wrong thing to say because, on the final day that he had enough of them asking him, Astrid asked 'but I never see you carry barrels of fish, how do we know your not starving your dragon? And she shouldn't be used as some type of pet'.

(Male name) was so close to burning her alive then and there, but he swallowed the urge to insult and punch her face in before calmly replying "I'd rather drown in the rain and saltwater than try to starve my dragon, and besides, I am an early riser, so I have time to catch some fish and hand them to her before leaving the place and getting some food myself" he said this so calmly to her face, with a look that said 'dare to say that again and I will kill you'.

No one tried to question him again, other than to ask how she was doing. And for that, (male name) was grateful.

As for the garden itself, it was coming along great, the Chief had asked why the exotic ones weren't growing, and (Male name) had to briefly explain (in a way to make him understand), that he wanted to see if the soil was good enough first before planting them, he didn't want to ruin the seeds on the first try since he only had a handful left (which was true in a sense), the Chief seemed to understand and told him, that he didn't need to rush and to let him know if there was anything he needed, just ask, or even Gobber.

And (male name) was certain he was going to need Gobber's help soon, for now, he needed to think of a way to make a greenhouse and not arouse suspicion, and figure out a way to make glass without using Meatlug. Or, at least remember how to make it, surely the blacksmith could help with the heat?

He facepalmed when he realised that he needed sand in order to make the glass. Looks like he was going to scouting the beach, as soon as he asked someone where they were.

Because knowing this tribe and island, there was more than one beach.

Since the academy training started from morning till midday, (male name) decided to have lunch before looking around for beaches, he decided that he wasn't going to ask, he didn't want people giving him the funny look, he had, had enough of that before they got here.

So, now here he was, scouting the beach and contemplating whether wet sand or dry sand would make the best result. Eventually, he decided to get a bucket full of both so he could experiment, better safe than sorry. And considering Gobber had given him permission to use the blacksmith whenever he wanted to, he made his way there, the second the buckets were full. And it was going to give him a chance to exercise more, considering how steep it was to get down, he had a feeling it was going to be even more difficult getting up.

That summed life up in a nutshell, and he couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.

(Female POV)

While your brother was out making those glasses (and you giving him a measurement on what you needed them to be), you continued your work of taking care of the crops, at least, the ones that could grow in this climate.
