Well, I can say Christmas was rather lonely.
Not only did I spend it alone, but I've been alone since.
Even on New Year's Eve when couples share their iconic kiss that sets the tone for the year.
After that day in the hotel, nothing was the same.
I was so heartbroken after Paul admitted he was so drunk, he thought I was Jane and didn't even recall the proposal that
I decided to give him some time to sort his feelings out.
He said he didn't need to but I felt like he had to, after all he did jump into bed with me the same afternoon they broke up.
Their relationship was one that had lasted years and at one point he was in love with her.
I was a fool to think I could snatch him cleanly and without any strings attached.
We've given each other space and at first, it was unbearable but now it's been a little easier since lately Neal has been keeping me company.

Today is the day of the boy's live television interview, I remember Paul mentioning how nervous he was about this one but I know he'll be alright once he's there.
Neal comes over to watch it with me.
My heart falls as I see Paul's face appear on the screen,
He looks like he's doing well,
There he is, always so beautiful, so well-spoken and hypnotic, but the trance Paul put me in is suddenly broken when a fan asks if he and Jane are going to get engaged.
He responds to it in a rather strange way not giving a serious answer until the very end.

Obviously upset, I ask Neal to turn the set off.

"Evie, are you alright?

"The whole world wants him to be with her. I don't exist
in his world."

"They don't know you yet.
One day they will. Oh, how did your interview go?"

"I'm hoping they liked me. They want to try some clothes on me and maybe ill get to take some pictures for a magazine."

"I can see it now, the best model around, Evie Clark."

"Oh Neal, I don't think I'll be that famous!"

I chuckle.
Neal's company is different than Paul's.
There's no stress or nervousness, it feels good to be around him and we are starting to become closer.

We continue to talk about my modeling career when my phone rings inturupting our conversation.
When I answer I am happy to hear it is Cynthia

"Hello, Cyn! How are you and Julian?"

"Were doing wonderfully. But I want to know how you're feeling. . . I was worried but you sound like you're doing fine"

"Well its sweet of you to worry about me but why would I not be doing fine?"

"So you haven't heard?"

"Cyn. . . what's going on?"

"Paul and Jane. It's all over the papers."
