June 16th, 1964

No need for my alarm clock to go off when I almost couldn't sleep all night.
Thinking of talking to Paul after these last couple of months seems a bit strange and feels extremely awkward, but this is strictly professional and we just have to be adults about the whole situation.
I pack my bag and head to the set.

When I get there, im immediately rushed to hair and makeup.
Pattie is already dressed and finished so she goes to meet George for breakfast.
I'm glad to be alone, it gives me time to think.

Through a window, I can see the back of his head in the distance.
I start to repeat
"Hello Paul" and "Oh, Hi Paul"
to myself over and over until it drives me absolutely crazy.
Nevertheless, I gather up the courage to go up to him anyway.

As I walk forward, my heart races just as it did the first time I ever met him.
Only this time it was faster, now I know how charming he is.

I approach him from behind

"Hello Paul, great seeing you here"

He looks blindsided by seeing me.

"Oh, Evie hello! What are you doing here?"

"Well, I was hired to be a model on set. I don't know exactly what they're having me do yet"

"Oh."

The conversation turns awkward and silent

"Well, I'll see you around, I guess. Nice seeing you Paul"

"Evie, wait. . . Listen, I know things didn't end on the best of terms but can we keep this professional? I'll stay out of your way and you'll stay out of mine. I'm just trying to do my job."

"Oh. . . yeah, of course. Why wouldn't it be professional? It's just a job."

"It really was nice to see you again, Youre a great model."

He says before patting me on the shoulder and walking away.
My heart shattered and fell to my feet.
I didn't know why.
I should be happy with Neal.
I AM happy with Neal but I guess I'm disappointed that seeing me didn't mean as much to him as me seeing him did.
I straighten myself up and carry on with the cue.

Pattie and I are ordered to sit in a cable car and act surprised and run off.
It's a funny scene and I don't even talk but Pattie does have a one-word script.
I guess that's better than nothing.

After the scene is shot we all decide to have lunch together.
The tension in the room grows thicker by the second.
Paul sits around anxiously and doesn't say a word to anyone.
Ringo asks if he's going to eat to which he says he's going to meet Jane for lunch.
My heart drops as he gets up and walks out the door.
Ringo comes and takes a seat next to me

"Did you speak to him?"

"Well, kind of. He just brushed me off"

"What did he say?"

"He just asked if we could keep it professional and not to get in each other's way."
