"You ready?" Asked Sasha, I nodded as she pushed me down the hill, wind blew on my face, as the bottom of the hill became smaller, I could make out James's red car in the distance.
As soon as I came at the bottom of the hill, I ran towards James's car. "Hey Lucas."he said as he pulled out a bag full of junk food, Amanda was standing beside him, her blonde hair was in a tight bun, she had a full makeup on like nothing happened. Like she wasn't going through a break up.
Speaking of the breakup, James haven't mentioned the situation, I figured he was in good terms with Amanda since she was still with him right now.
Amanda's lips slightly curved into a smile, her natural brat smile, I didn't bother to return in it. She was source of the drama after all.
I heard footsteps behind me, surprised to see Sasha, she was walking slowly towards Amanda.
I could see uncertainty in Sasha eyes. James finally collected everything he needed, "let's go." He said.
As we started walking together as a group Sasha and Amanda were alone, they didn't say a word to each other.
"So, are you together again?" I asked James, after checking if Amanda and Sasha were out of earshot. "Yeah, why?" He said. I shook my head, after everything? She sure helped us find Sasha, but that was the consequence of what she had done.
Once we reached the top of the hill, where Sasha and I put on the slide, Amanda came up to me, "hey Lucas," she said smiling, "I'm sorry of what I did to James ." She said.
I forced a smile, "Apologize to him, not to me." I said before I made my way to Sasha to tell her everything.
We sat on the carpet which was filled with our board games, as well as all our food the wind blew at us , making Sasha hair turn to a mess. "Hey Lucas," she said, her voice joyful than it has ever been.
"Yeah." I replied back, curios of what she had to say. "Thank you for going all the way to find me." She smiled the sun shone on her making her blue eyes light up, and her blonde hair to look transparent. I nodded. Then she extended her arms and hugged me, I hugged her back. Wrapping my arms around her, feeling the soft texture of her hair against my arms.
"Well." I said pulling away from Sasha, "let's continue with our fun." I continued.
The wind blew on our faces once again, the world around me felt like a dream, I was happy that my life was back to normal, it felt like when a sour candy turns sweet.
Today I figured, would mark the beginning of a new chapter, a new page, a somewhat new life. I'd learn new things, discover new things, meet new people, or maybe just maybe, take a one step closer with my friendship with someone. Speaking of that someone.
I looked at Sasha, happiness was written all over her face, her face was a mirror of mine. Maybe she was thinking of the same things I was thinking of. I got happy until, uncertainly hit me like a truck.
Until Sasha confirmed it herself. She confirmed that she was sharing my feelings.
