After a few moments of silence, Gon spoke. "I.. I think I know where we can find her. Hisoka will be at Heavens Arena in a months time, so maybe Blank will be there to!" He had announced, causing Killua to practically snap his neck as he hurriedly turned towards Gon.
"And why do you know where Hisoka will be?" Killua asked, his eyes squinted. This caused Leorio to focus in, also curious on the topic at hand. Kurapika, already aware of the answer, simply hummed whilst nodding. "Oh! Thats easy, Hisoka had told me!" Gon had replied, bouncing.
"Oh.." Killua had replied, not sure of the idea of Hisoka assisting them. In the end, it was fine as long as Killua got to see Blank again. He really wanted to know her reasoning behind betraying him. Though after being convinced otherwise, Killua still had his doubts. I mean, she didn't even apologize to him after stealing his badge!
Not to forget what his father had said, about Blank's 'supposed' betrayel. Why had he known Blank's whereabouts? Why had she been in the Zoldyck's basement? Since when had they even had a basement? Why did it seem like everyone around him knew Blank better than he knew her himself? This really was a confusing time for Killua.
"Yes.." Kurapika had started. "Hisoka informed both Gon and I about his future whereabouts. Though I wasn't told about the Heaven's Arena meetup, I am aware of one thing." Kurapika paused, looking around at the faces of his friends. Killua's face remained stoic, probably surprised by all the new information surrounding him.
Leorio looked as if he was betrayed, dramatically placing his hand over his heart, gasping. "How come you guys are being told more than me!" He had exclaimed, "Its not fair, you'd think that since we were all friends we would be told the same stuff! Hisoka didn't even spare a glance toward me, nor did he speak to me!"
Ignoring Leorio's little outburst, Kurapika turned to look at Gon. The most innocent, and some could say charming, of the group. Gon remained stood there, an innocent expression plastered over his face. "Really? Where'd he tell you to meet up at then, Kurapika?" He exclaimed, almost bouncing up and down.
Sighing, Kurapika continued. "You know the underground auction? He will supposedly be there..." 'The underground auction? Why would Hisoka be there' Killua pondered, but refrained from asking. It didn't matter this second, as first they had to go to Heavens area.
Perking up, Gon exclaimed "Well thats good! We can all go to Heavens Arena together to search for Blank, then we could head to the underground auction!" Hearing this, Killua nodded, looking over to Leorio and Kurapika. Instead of seeing nods of agreement, Killua was greeted by Leorio awkwardly rubbing the back of his head, and Kurapika looking towards the ground.
Leorio started "Well, actually.. Yknow its been nice and all hanging with you guys, but I kind of want to go of on my own! This hunters license right here.." he paused, waving his license in the air "Is alI really needed. I'm going to start training to get my doctorate actually.." He finished, a cheeky grin on his face.
Cutting off Kurapika, who looked to be about to speak, Leorio continued. "Oh! But don't worry, you'll see me soon enough! You said the.. underground auction, right?" He said motioning towards Kurapika, getting a nod in return. "I'll meet up with you guys then, and hopefully I'll be the best doctor any of you ever saw." He finished, a dreamy look on his face, as if imagining his successful career as a doctor.
Gon's smile faltered slightly before returning to his grin. "Oh, thats fine! Then it can be Killua, Kurapika, and I! Right guys?" He asked, motioning towards the two. Killua nodded, not saying anything. It was already obvious, at least to Killua. He would follow Gon to the depths of the earth, if he had to. Gon was his first friend, after all.
Everyone turned to look at Kurapika, waiting for his response. Sighing, Kurapika spoke. "I also have my own place to be.. I would like to figure out everything. I need to be stronger, to find and annihilate the entire Phantom Troupe." At the mention of the Phantom Troupe, Kurapika's eyes held a tint of red. "Oh, but of course I will also meet up with you all at the underground auction."
Killua didn't care much that the two wouldn't come, as he had Gon. Plus he would prefer having his best friend with him to find his.. other.. friend? This made Killua pause. Where Blank and him friends? Sure, they did act close and friendly at the hunter exams, but that was friends. And friends didn't betray each other... right?
A memory popped back into his head. It was from one of Illumi's daily torture sessions. "Assassins do not make friends." slash "Friends are always traitors, who are always in it for a reason." slash "Be it for money, jealousy, ulterior motives, friends should not be trusted." slash "Do not trust anyone ever. Be it me, Mother, father, grandfather, trust no one. Not even family." slash "Everyone is manipulative. No one cares for you. Assassins don't have friends." slash
After that torture session, one which Killua would forever remember, Killua ended up with 18 fresh whip wounds. They all healed in a matter of time, but one of the scars still remained. It was a smallish scar located on his ankle, and it had been with Killua since he was seven.
It was such a foreign concept for Killua.. Friends. He looked over at Gon, who was happily chatting with Kurapika and Leorio. Can they really be trusted? Blank, who had held the title of 'friend' had betrayed him, so what stopped the others from also doing so? Shaking his head, Killua ran off to join the others, leaving the cold basement and the Zoldyck estate behind.
"I will find you.. Blank."
