If you asked Beam, Kit or Forth, actually any of the University that wasn't Wayo or Phana, they would tell you Ming had a consistent flow of words waiting any moment to make themselves present, he was loud, boisterous, almost effervescent, if there ever was a loud group happily screaming or singing it was probably you would find Ming there.

For them there was no other way.

But for Wayo... there was the Ming that sometimes got deadly quiet, it wasn't common, but he knew that Ming, many times present when Wayo was in some kind of trouble, tight fists ready to fight, cold and murderous eyes, and brain working on finding the weak spot of his adversary, that quiet only last till he feels the treat gone, then like a switch the smile would be back, his hands turned soft and caring, his brain would fill his mouth with jokes to get back the joy around him.

There was the sad quiet Ming too, the one he meet for the first time when his parents died in an accident, leaving him alone, the sad quiet Ming possessed his friend for a long time, this Ming didn't eat properly, he woke up every night with a nightmare, and was wasting away day by day, till he had found out someone was bullying Wayo, that was the time the anger won over the sadness, Wayo was absolutely sure, he preferred a hundred times an angry quiet Ming than a sad one.

Phana meet a different quiet Ming.

Phana and Ming were working together on making dinner, a movie on the tv as a background noise for them, the two of them moving like a synchronized team, most of the times Ming would be telling him a story about his friends, or how Forth and Beam almost had sex on one of the labs and Can we have sex in one of the labs P?? Managing to make him laugh every time, other times it was a more serious matter, like the school work or Phana options for his practice I still got time to decide Ming. Sometimes they would be just like this, pleasantly quiet, the quiet that you get when all is peaceful and relaxed, the first time Phana didn't knew if this was normal, Ming got so quiet that day...

Flashback

Phana got out of the shower on his dorm room, expecting Ming to be asleep on the bed because there was only silence, but the engineer was just lying down, eyes open, looking at the ceiling, his face just relaxed, Phana was worried that he had said something or done something to make Ming this quiet, so he walked to the bed and sat beside his moon

"Are you ok?" he asked, Ming gave him a small smile and nodded, but he just kept quiet, deep breaths fanning Pha's face as he got closer "Are you sure you're alright?" Ming closed his eyes and nodded again. Phana got up from the bed, and started to clean the discarded clothes from the floor, he kept busy doing small chores around the room, and then sat at his table, and started to do homework, after a few minutes Ming got up, and walked to him, took his own books and started to work too.

"Did i do something?" Phana was a little worried, he couldn't remember.

"Uh?"

"Are you angry with me?" he asked taking Ming's hands between his

"P! No!, why would you think that?" Ming startled him with the volume of his voice

"You got very quiet, you are always... i don't know... not quiet"

Ming laughed, and Phana felt himself relax at the sound, the young one stood up and rounded the table to stand behind Phana and hug him

"I get quiet like this sometimes P, don't worry, it's just, i was so relaxed, and being here with you, it makes me feel safe, like i don't have to do anything, i don't have to make a joke, or talk to fill the silence you know?, you do it sometimes too"

And of course Phana did it, he just never expected to do it with Ming, or that Ming would feel like this with him, comfortable, safe, relaxed. Phana nodded and pulled Ming to sit on his lap.

"I like that you can relax, and be as loud or quiet ar you want" he kissed the tip of his nose "let's stay like this a little more" he whispered and Ming nodded rounding his arms around his P, hiding his face on the crook of his neck.

End Flashback

They had almost finished making the dinner when all got black

"I think it was a power outage" Phana got the light on his phone

Ming got his own "Let's have a romantic dinner P" Ming whispered and ran to the bathroom where they had a big scented candle, Phana put the dinner on the table as Ming lit the candle, they sat there in silence, just looking at each other and enjoying their presence, once the plates where clean they sat, Ming cradling Phana in his arms on their new couch, well almost everything was new in their apartment. Ming playing with his hair as Phana closed his eyes but keep a warm soft smile as he hums. Just the two of them, in their apartment that has thick walls for privacy Pha! So they could not hear their neighbors.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" whispered Phana feeling the weight of Ming's gaze

"I like to look at beautiful things"

The light came back, but Ming and Phana were too into each other to even care. They were safe, quiet and together.
