Chapter 22: Regret

I don't know why but I suddenly loose a thousand reads after I on-lined this account. And so I lost a chapter entitled An Underwater tour. It worries me because I'm not a famous writer,, yet that's happening to me already! Here's an update! A FEW MONTHS LATER, HAHA.

I STARED AT him in awe as he carefully marched up on the stage to get Arliah. His eyes never leaving the sight of her. Like she's the only person on this place right now.

I checked myself.

I feel void. Nasaktan si Arliah ng dahil sa kagagawan ko. Sandali akong natuwa ng ina-nunsyo na ang pagkapanalo ko but that... immediately faded when I saw his familiar figure entering the arena.

Why are you here, prinsipe Ul?

Hindi ba't nasa tagong lugar siya ngayon, healing his body because of his damage? Anong ginagawa niya dito? Kanina pa ba siya nanonood?

I felt my wings gone. I was just about to get out of here when he came. Hindi tuloy ako makagalaw sa kinatatayuan ko.

When he stopped walking in front of her, I felt pain attached my chest. Like it was stabbed hundred times and break into pieces. Nasapo ko ito ng wala sa oras at bahagya pang nanginginig ang kamay.

As I watch him knelt on the ground and carefully scoop her in his arms... a mist of gold envelopes the both of them and then... they're gone.

Gone.

Parang nanlambot ako at nabuwal sa pagkakatayo. Ayen immediately flew to my direction na sinundan nina Zaina. She whispered calming words in my ear na para bang makakatulong iyon para mabawasan ang sakit na nararamdaman ko.

Pero wala... Walang naging epekto.

Time passed by. Sa isang iglap ay ipinatigil ang laro dahil sa laki ng damage ng arena. Most of it's damage was created by me. And I don't feel any sympathy about it.

In the end, the faculty declared not one but many winners in the game.

Hindi man lang ako na-satisfied. Sa huli, parang talo pa rin ako. I didn't get his attention. Kung ako ba ang napunta sa lugar ni Arliah kanina ay mag-e-effort din siyang lumabas sa silid na iyon para kuhanin ako? 

Will he look at me the way he looked at Arliah? Was it love that I saw in his eyes?

I regret what I did.

Nang matauhan ako ay nagkulong ako sa aking kwarto. I'm just staring in the ceiling na para bang may kaintera-interasanting bagay doon.

When dinner arrives, napilitan akong lumabas dahil sinundo ako nina Zaina at Ayen. They want us to catch up especially because they were gone few days ago.

Ayoko silang ma-disappoint kaya hindi na ako nag-inarte. Posibleng makasabayan namin sa pagkain si prinsipe Ul at pwedeng hindi. But that doesn't matter.

Siguradong sasamahan niya si Arliah. If everyone knew about him being tied with the merpeople's princess, I'm sure maku-kwestyon siya ng lahat.
