I closed my eyes as soon as I knew it was coming. There was a gunshot- something hard slammed into me. I opened my eyes, slowly. I whipped my head around. Bethany's mom looked down at my feet perplexed. I looked down and screamed, falling to my feet. Blood flowed from the side of her head, in a thin horizontal line.

"This could be interesting. Until then." Mrs. Walters waved as she broke into a sprint. I scream. Scream and shout and wail. Bethany sacrificed herself. I ran a hand through her soft hair, and a few tears gathered in her grey, lifeless eyes. She looked up at the sky.

"No, no no no no. D- don't leave me. Don't you die on me." My voice cracked. Tears poured from my eyes yet again.

"I need you. . ."

Memories moved rapidly. Picking flowers in the meadow, my childhood friends, music, dancing carefree in the meadows. Volleyball, clear skies, lemonade, smiling. Laughter, my first kiss, chocolate, my bow obsession. Painting, high school graduation, parties, studying, my favorite professors. First day on the field, guns, team family.

Just keep moving forward.
