Boy Meets Me (GMW)

Chapter 6

I sit in Topanga's with Riley, Farkle, Maya, Corey, Lucas, Zay, and Panga.

They were talking about resolving conflicts in Class today, another one of Cory's famous lessons, and apparently Riley wants to have a duel like in the olden days because her and Maya have a conflict.

But there's something going on with Riley. It's just taking me a while for it all process.

Farkle and Lucas each stand on a side of Zay with towels on a raised arm. Maya and Rley are facing each other but with distance in between. Cory and Topanga watch behind the couter and I'm leaning on the door way.

Zay says "Fire!"

Maya looks at her ice cream then at Riley. She looks behind her and hands her icecream to Cory. 

Cory takes the icecream with a suprised face then smiles. He says "That's the best way to resolve a conflict that I have ever saw." He licks the icecream and says "This taste one day before expired."

Topanga looks at Riley and says "Riley take a hint please so we can all be done with this." while leaning on the counter.

Processing. My brain is processing.

Riley steps forward and says "This will be done when you treat my like an ordinary person which nobody notices."

Maya steps forward and says "Your not. Your a sweet little goofball and I love you just the way you are." Maya shrugs her shoulders and says "Live with it."

Riley steps forward and Maya has her hands open

OH NO!

Riley puts the icecream in Maya's face and stomps away.

I look at Cory and Topanga's face and shake my head. I then go run after Riley.

I make it to Riley's door and open it. 

She sits in bay window.

I step in and Riley looks at me. 

RIley says "Me and Maya have a conflict. We are fighting."

I sit next to her and say "I know." I put a strand of hair behind her ear and look her deep in her eyes "I know."

She looks at me suprised and shocked "You know?"

"Yes Riley. I know." I open my arms and she leans onto me. I stroke her hair.

She stutters "R-ray."

"Shhhh"

She cries.

After a few minutes, I stop stroking her and hair and say "RIley look at me."

She looks at me and says "You don't give them power. You never give them power over who you are. You don't let them tear you down and change you. You are you RIley and you shouldn't be afraid to be who you are."

She says "But-"

"No buts. And true friends and family will stand by you no matter what. I know your humilated. It's not gonna get better until you confont it. And next time you tell someone, it doesn't have to be me but someone."

"Maya?"

"Maya gonna be hurt but she's your friend and she's coming right now. Probably be here in five minutes give or take."

She hugs me tight and crys a little more.

I sit her up and wipe her tears. "You gonna take this on. With you and your friends."

Just as I say that Maya comes in.

I stand up and breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe-

I just can't take it and punch straight into Riley's wall. My fist is in the wall and I pull it out. I punch the wall again and pull it out.
