Philip's P.O.V.*

I couldn't get her out of my head, no matter how hard I tried. Every waking moment of my day she manged, to dance her way into my thoughts. The moment I received, her letters I'd rip them open as soon as possible, read it quickly, then send her a response as soon as I could.

Theodosia Burr was her name. She looked like an actual goddess, that had come to grace human civilization with her beauty. The moment, I had seen her dancing with the other young bachelorettes at the Winter Ball, I knew that she was the one. But of course, I couldn't have her all because of our fathers.

I hadn't even mentioned her to my father. Because I knew that the moment I said the name 'Theodosia Burr', he would laugh right in my face. I mean it made sense Aaron Burr, and Alexander Hamilton were known by everyone around to be enemies. Well being more specific, frenemies that couldn't stand on another.

But I had told one person about all of this. My mother, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, the most understanding person I had ever met. She didn't care that Theodosia's father was Aaron Burr, all she cared was that I had found someone. She told me to follow, my heart and that was what I planned to do, but my father was a huge roadblock on the path to my heart.

"Mother, you should have seen her smile when we danced that night," I said with a dreamy smile, sitting at the kitchen as I recalled the night two months ago.

It had been absolutely magical, Theodosia had looked like the true goddess, I knew she was. I mean I hadn't seen her since, but we'd been talking back in forth by letter. And I just knew she was the one.

She had light brown skin, with dark brown body wave hair, the most beautiful and kissable lips, mesmerizing light brown eyes, and a small body.

I remember that night when I had twirled, her around, her large purple silk dress, flowing around her as she laughed with me, under the ballroom lights. It had been magical.

"I'm sure she was beautiful." Mother said smiling as she walked over to the table in her silk nightgown, holding up the morning mail. "A letter came for you from a special little lady."

I grinned broadly, as my mother handed me the parchment envelope. She laughed at my eagerness, walking away as I pulled open the envelope, taking out the folded letter, throwing the envelope off to the side. I smiled looking at Theodosia's beautiful penmanship.

My Dear Philip,

I miss you dearly. But I have some great news to make the both of us happy! I was able to convince my father to have you and your father to come over for tea on the fifth of August, at 4 pm, to discuss the future. I can't wait to see you, but I had to make this letter short because there are so many things to be prepared! I will see you soon dear!

Love, Theodosia

"Mother!" I said jumping up from my seat going over to the counter where my mother was standing. "Read this!" I said handing her the letter, which she took reading it quickly with a smile.

"That's amazing dear! I'm so happy for you." Mother said smiling, as she hugged me tightly.

"What's amazing?" My father asked entering the kitchen.

He had a hot mug of tea in his hand, glasses on the bridge of his neck, with his shoulder-length hair tightly into a low ponytail. I smiled clearing, my throat. Today was the fifth of August meaning I needed to ask him, to come now or never. My mother squeezed my shoulder reassuringly, as my father sat down at the table.

"Father remember how I told you that I had met a girl at the Winter Ball?" I said smiling unsurely.

"Sure I do," Father said taking a sip of tea.

"Well, her father has invited you and me over to his house, for tea to discuss, the future," I said smiling. "Can we go?"

"Of course we can." He said smiling. "Who is it?"

"Um, Theodosia Burr, Aaron Burr's daughter," I whispered just loudly enough for him to hear me.

"You want to marry a Burr!?" My father yelled angrily, slamming his hand on the table.

"His daughter hasn't done anything wrong!" I yelled angrily. "And I really like her," I said the last part quietly.

"Well, I suppose we could drop by for a moment if it means that much to you," Father said, sighing.

"Thank you, father," I said nodding as I felt my self getting all giddy inside.

Maybe I'd be able to marry her soon. Because I could already tell that he was a keeper.
