Theodosia's P.O.V.*
Yesterday had been amazing! Philip's parents were so fun, welcoming, and kind. But especially Eliza Hamilton. She was so sweet to me as we baked a cake together. Mr. Hamilton had been okay, as he chatted with us, occasionally passing us ingredients, as we baked. But he did seem to be pretty out of it. I didn't know if he just didn't like me or if he just didn't like it.
Today it was raining heavily outside. Which caused a bit of a problem since I really wanted to see Philip today. But I mean there was nothing stopping me from seeing him except for my desire to stay dry. So I stayed home, the moment I had seen that it began to rain I sent him a letter which should have arrived by now.
I was currently curled up on the couch in my living room in my beige cotton mull dress. In my lap was a copy of The Seasons by James Thomson. I was currently reading Winter which was quite interesting. I mean I'd read this poem hundreds of times but I never seemed to understand what Thomson meant. But it was still very beautiful to read.
"See, Winter comes to rule the varied year,
Sullen and sad, with all his rising train —
Vapours, and clouds, and storms. Be these my theme;
These, that exalt the soul to solemn thought
And heavenly musing. Welcome, kindred glooms!"
As I began to read the next line of the poem, a loud knock sounded from our front door. I jumped slightly at the sound of the loud noise. I walked over to the front door stretching my arms and covering my mouth as I yawned. I stopped in front of the front door pulling it open to see a somewhat soaked Philip standing under a dripping umbrella.
His usually unruly hair was completely wet and straight on his shoulders. He was wearing black breeches, a long white shirt, and a blue silk long coat, with black soaking wet buckled boots.
"Philip!" I said loudly grabbing his wrist to try and pull him into the house.
"No I don't want to get your house wet, but do you want to go for a walk?" Philip asked with a small smirk playing at his lips.
I really wanted to say no, it sounded like a really bad idea. But the way Philip smirk down on me, and just how cute he looked with water in his hair just made me reconsider. I just needed to get a coat.
"Fine, give me a sec," I said rolling my eyes playfully as I stepped into the hall.
I made my way over to my coat closet pulling it open to find something to wear. I looked for a minute finding a large button-up, white long caraco with long sleeves. I quickly slipped it on over my dress, stepping out into the entry hall leaving the caraco unbuttoned as I slipped into my white flats.
I stepped out of the door shutting the door behind me, finding myself under Philip's umbrella with his hand around my waist. I spun around placing a hand on his chest with a smirk on my face. I then took his hand pulling him down the steps of my house as the rain splashed onto the ground around us.
He laughed as I jumped into a particularly large puddle splashing both of us in the process. We laughed together as we jumped into puddles together, but then out fo nowhere we heard saw a large flash of light. And then less than a minute later we heard the thunder crack form above. I got so scared that I jumped into Philips's arms with a squeak.
He chuckled down at me one arm around me as the other held the umbrella up above us. I smiled up at him as he looked down at me with a play full smirk played at his lips. Then out of nowhere, he leaned down connecting his lips to mine sending a spark through my body.
My eyes fluttered shut as I blushed, kissing him back with my hand on his chest. I couldn't believe it. I was standing out in the rain under an umbrella kissing Philip Hamilton. Every girl's dream just came true for me.
But how cliche was it that we were kissing out in the rain?
