Theodosia's P.O.V.*
"Father they're here!" I called into the hallway, as I anxiously flattened down the front of my light blue dress.
I had been so excited to see Philip, I had made three different desserts, chocolate cake, creme Brule, and macarons, all in two days. It might have been much but I was extremely excited, and I wanted to prove, to Philip, and his father that I would make a great wife. Well, at least that was what I liked to think. I touched my hair one more time, to make sure it still looked good.
My hair was tied back into a Gibson tuck bun, with a small blue bird barret to top off the hairstyle. My father stopped out into the hall walking over to the door, as I stood behind him. My father carried himself tall as he stood there in a royal purple buttoned waistcoat, a silk royal purple coat, and black colonial breeches.
My father pulled open the door with a grin.
"Alexander, always a pleasure!" My father said somewhat sarcastically.
"Agreed Mr. Burr," Hamilton said with a nod as my father stepped inside to let the men enter our home.
"Ah, you must be Philip." My father said grinning at Philip.
"That would be me, yes," Philip said smiling at me as he nodded at my father.
"Nice to meet you!" My father said not hiding his sourness all too well.
"And you," Philip said with a gentlemanly nod, he looked so handsome.
"You must be Theodosia," Hamilton said with a smile.
"Yes sir, it's a pleasure to meet you," I said bowing my head ever so slightly, and picking it up to see Philip giving me a small smile over his father's shoulder.
"The same to you." Philip's father said with a friendly smile.
"Please come take a seat," I said ushering everyone over to our spacious living room.
Everything in the room was either the color gold, white or light pink, my father decided on letting me decorate the living room. Not a great decision on his part. As we took our seats, the men on the couch, and me on the armchair, I couldn't help but stare at Philip. He looked extremely hot, to say the least.
His unruly curly hair had somehow been pulled back into a low ponytail, he had on a white buttoned waistcoat over a black shirt, with a pale yellow long silk coat, paired with white colonial breeches.
He remembered that my favorite color was pale yellow. I put my hand to my chest feeling touched as he winked at me from across the living room. I noticed him holding a small velvet box. Was he going to pop the question today? I really hoped so! But then again I didn't because I knew that my father would immediately say now.
We had all sat down and were sitting in an uncomfortable silence as I poured everyone's tea placing their cups carefully in front of them before taking a small sip of my own cup. I smaller shyly at Philip as he cleared his throat.
"So, I wanted to ask, both of you Mr. Burr, and my father a question," Philip said sitting up straighter from his seat on the couch.
"Ask away." His father said eying him confusedly.
"I wanted to ask if, Theodosia and I would have your blessing in getting married," Philip said smiling at me broadly as I returned the favor.
But our fathers weren't smiling, not one bit as they quickly turned angrily to each other. Before turning angrily to us. My father stood up furiously. Looking down at Philip which such an I anger that I would have hated to be him.
"I will not have my daughter marry a Hamilton!" Father yelled angrily.
"ANd my son will never marry a Burr!" Alexander yelled at me, standing up furiously.
"But I love her!" Philip yelled silencing everyone, as he walked towards me offering me a hand.
I took his hand stain up beside him as our fathers looked at us angrily, waiting for my answer. I mean it had come as a shock to me that Philip loved me but I knew that we had developed something between us.
"And I love him," I said firmly looking into my father's eyes.
"You can't fall in love with someone over letters." My father said rolling his eyes.
"How about we prove to you that we love each other!" I said grinning at Philip who was still holding my hand tightly.
"Give us a month, and you'll be able to see," Philip said smiling down at me.
"Ten days." Our fathers said at the same time not looking at each other.
"Okay," Was all Philip and I said in response. We didn't want to ruin it. We had our chance to get married. And I was over the moon about it as I smiled up at him, still holding hands as our fathers watched us.
Hopefully, ten days would be enough.
