When I finally made it back to the dorm, after seeing Mr Watson and the school nurse, and being checked over and over, when we finally decided that it I was a seer, it was 5:30.
I had one hour to shower, change and do my hair and make-up before Alex came to pick me up for our date.

I quickly stripped off my sweat-filled workout gear and jumped into the shower, loading my hair with shampoo, rinsing it out then hurriedly washing my body before hopping out and chucking on my fluffy white robe.

I rushed through slightly curling my hair and lightly applying lipgloss and a faint shade of eyeshadow, keeping it natural. Looking at the clock as I walked back into the room, I saw it was 6:20. Ten minutes. Rummaging through my closet, I realised I didn't pack anything to wear for a date, only jeans, t-shirts and sweaters. Just as I was starting to totally freak out, Molly walked into the room.
"Hey, hey ,he-... Woah. What's got you crazy?" She asked closing the door behind her.
"Alex is coming to pick me up for our date in ten minutes and I have nothing to wear."
"Omg! Your dates tonight? Well why didn't you tell me?" She laughed.
"I just did."
"You can borrow something of mine. Might be a bit big, coz your figure so tiny." She spoke in a baby voice, holding her fingers slightly together.
"Please." I whined.
"Okay...let's see." Said Molly as she started to push through her closet of fancy clothes. "Here we go." She announced, holding up a cream, strap, lace dress.
"Thank you, thank you!" I screamed, hugging Molly.

After basically sprinting into the bathroom and changing into the gorgeous dress Molly had lent me, I walked out into the dorm.
"OH-MY-GOD." Whispered Molly, her mouth a perfect O shape. "You look amazing, you wear that better than I do."
"Thank you." I smiled "it's a beautiful dress."
"Oh it's not just the dress that's beautiful." Molly said as I blushed a deep red.

Just as I opened my mouth to speak, there was a loud knocking on the door.
"He here! Eeeeeek!" Molly squealed.
"Sshhh. He'll hear you." I whisper/shouted.
"Okay okay. I'm shushing."
I giggled as I walked to the door and pulled it open.

"Hey al-...oh...wow! Ali, you look fantastic." Alex said, seemingly lost for words. He looked me up and down approvingly.Once again I blushed, and looked down as I whispered a small thank you.
"Are you ready to go?" Asked Alex, holding out his hand.
"Yep." I replied, taking his hand and waving by to Molly, as we walked down the hall.

"I hope you don't mind walking, I let Mace borrow my truck and the restaurants just around the corner." Alex asked as we stepped on the sidewalk.
"That's fine, it's a nice night." I replied.
"Even better now." He said as he untwined his fingers with mine again. I sighed and looked at our joined hands.
"Smooth." I whispered, making Alex's smile widen as he let out a gruff laugh.
"Well I try."

"So I heard about today, are you okay?" His face was full of sincere concern.
"I'm fine. I had a vision, but it was a big surprise."
"Oh so you didn't know you were a seer yet?"
"No I didn't."
"Is it true that those things hurt?" Alex questioned, showing a keen interest in my power.
"Totally true. Hurt doesn't even come close to the pain. I'm surprised anyone can even focus on the vision they see, with that pain. I know I couldn't."
"Well I've heard it gets easier, but it's a slow developing power."
"Lucky me." I sighed, feeling tired just thinking about the pain I went through today.
"Well if I could, I would make it stop. If I could make it so you didn't ever feel the pain I would." Alex looked into my eyes.
"That's really sweet, Alex. But sadly it doesn't work that way."
"If only." I heard him whisper to himself and smiled.

****************************

When Alex and I had fully indulged in a three course meal, we decided to leave the restaurant, but only after we argued over who paid.
"I'm paying." Alex demanded, his face showing no signs of joking.
"But we got a lot, are you sure?" I spoke, thinking of how much food we ate and the price of the meal
"Yes, Ali. I have more than enough money. And anyway,I asked you on a date, therefore I pay."
"Fine then." I groaned, as Alex smiled having won the argument.

"So where to now?" I asked as we left the restaurant, holding hands again.
"I wanna show you something." He said, walking ahead pulling me with him. We rounded the corner and started heading back to school. But instead of heading for the main dorm block, Alex changed direction and pulled me towards ,what I think was, the science building. He pulled me towards the fire stairs around the side of the building and started climbing them to the roof.
"We're going to the roof?" I asked shakily, fear filling my body.
"Yeah why?
"I..I c-can't." I spoke.
"Why?"
"H-heights." I shook my head shakily. Alex climbed down the few steps he had climbed up and walked to me. He softly placed his hand under my chin forcing my eyes to meet his.
"Hey, look. We"ll be fine" he spoke softly. "I'll take care of you, okay?"
I forced my closed up throat to open and muttered a small 'okay'. Alex nodded his head encouragingly and kissed my forehead lightly.

We climbed up the rusty metal fire stairs and reached the roof. I was amazed. The roof wasn't just a normal room, it was a garden. Filled with potted plants, from sunflowers to roses. And gave anyone stood on the roof a view of the city lights all around.
"It's beautiful." I whispered looking up at Alex, who was watching my reaction.
"It is. I don't get any credit though, this was all Molly." I gave him a confused look. " she comes up here all the time and gardens. Where we're from there are lots of hills and mountains to climb. When we were home, Molly and I always climbed them, then sat and watched the stars. Not in a romantic way, I mean, Mace was there too."
I giggled at the thought of Molly and Alex being romantic. They were more like siblings, they argued and bickered all the time over little things but still loved each other deeply.
"Anyway..." Alex continued. " there aren't many hills and mountain tops in the city, so we improvised. Molly planted these here, and now when we just need to take a break we come here. This is our mountain top." He smiled, and blushed.
"Well, it's beautiful" I said again. Alex slowly walked towards me until he was so close I could hear his heavy breathing.
"You're beautiful." He whispered, just so I could hear.
"That's cheesy." I giggled, moving closer as did Alex.
"How cheesy?" He asked, leaning closer so his lips were hovering over mine, our breathing mixed.
"Very." I murmured breathlessly, before Alex's lips smashed into mine. The kiss was perfect. His tongue skimmed my bottom lip, seeking entry and I didn't deny him. I accept him into my mouth, our tongues duelling in a battle neither can win. He gripped my waist with one hand as the other held my face in place. I wrapped both my arms around his neck as he pulls me closer. I lost all line of thought and sense, except one. He was a good kisser.
