Shinsou was abruptly awoken to a loud banging at his door. His mind still hazy from his nap, he wondered who the hell that could be, and why they were bothering him. All he wanted to do was go back to sleep.
He was tempted to just drop his head back into his pillow when even more knocking caused him to rid himself of the persistent sleepy haze.
Oh, right.
Denki was here.
He was still regretting the choice of letting him come over as he rolled off of the bed, almost collapsing onto the ground in his efforts. This was what happens when he was harshly awakened from his slumber.
Kaminari knocked a third time just as Hitoshi reached the door. He swiftly opened it, making the blond nearly stumble into him. Shinsou frowned, sighing out, "You're impatient." Denki only beamed, holding out a plate of the promised sugar cookies.
"Thank you," he chirped. Hitoshi rolled his eyes. That wasn't supposed to be a compliment. "Sorry, I'm late, I know. Something happened and I--" He stopped. "You look like hell," he pointed out, looking Shinsou up and down. Hitoshi didn't doubt that, having just taken an hour-long nap in his clothing. He imagined that his shirt was wrinkled and hair strewn and disheveled, but he couldn't care less as he fixed Denki with a soft, tired glare.
"Just come in," he grumbled, moving out of the way for Kamainari, who cheerfully strode into the dorm and plopped onto the bed like he owned the place. Shinsou took the plate of cookies from him and set them on his desk. No food in the dorms rule, be damned, he thought to himself as he shoved one into his mouth.
"So," Denki started, nestling into the pillows of Hitoshi's bed. That made the new student somewhat uneasy, for reasons unknown. "Do you wanna start or should I?" Shinsou quirked a brow at him.
"What do you mean?" he asked dryly, which caused Denki to shoot him his own questioning look.
"Twenty questions. Remember?"
Oh, yeah.
Great.
Hitoshi resisted the urge to sigh into his palm. Did he seriously have to do this right now? He was too tired for this shit, honestly.
"I mean, it doesn't have to be twenty questions," Kaminari continued, seemingly oblivious to Hitoshi's look of pure uninterest. Either that, or he was just choosing to ignore it. "We could, like, play to ten or fifteen or whatever. Until we're bored of it, I guess." He shrugged his shoulders and bounced off of the bed to grab three of the cookies. He put one in his mouth and held the other two, taking the tissue Shinsou offered him as a napkin cheerfully.
"Sure," Hitoshi agreed nonchalantly. Denki grinned as he sat back on the bed, beckoning Shinsou to join him. He did not. He instead pulled up a chair from his desk, staring at Kaminari, who didn't seem to get that he was supposed to start until Shinsou cleared his throat loudly.
"Oh! Uh," Kaminari stammered before raising his finger to his chin in thought, "Okay, first question: favorite... color?" He sounded unsure, but Hitoshi brushed it off.
"Yellow," he answered, to which Denki nodded. "Why are you and everyone in class 1-A so determined to become friends with me?"
The blond smiled, saying, "I don't know, dude. I wanna be your friend 'cause you seem pretty cool. Can't speak for the rest of the class, though." He chuckled. Shinsou couldn't understand why he found what he'd just said humorous, but it did make him feel better about himself, in a strange way. He decided that was something he would save to unpack another time.
"Okay," Denki continued, "Um, how do you like the Bakusquad?" That was a tougher question. It wasn't that Hitoshi disliked them, per se-- well, he kinda did, but they were an obviously fun group. Despite not wanting to make friends here, Shinsou was finding that it might be very difficult to keep that promise to himself. Especially since he could see himself getting along with Kaminari's group of friends.
