"Ok you can drop me  here." I told Eddie as I got to my house. He screeched to a halt and I reached to open the door.

"Awwn just like that?" He gave me a puppy sad face.

"Just like what?"

"You want to just leave like that. No hugs?" he whined.

"Oh." I never knew he was suffering from hugs. "Come to mama." I opened my arms wide like I was really going to give him a hug but when he moved close to take it, I smacked him right on the head.

"Ouch, what was that for?" He asked, rubbing his head.

"That." I pointed to his head. "Is my definition of a hug." I smirked.

"Don't worry, I get it one day." He winked.

"Yeah, in your dreams." I smiled and got out of the car

"Bye doll." He smiled.

"Bye bug." I smiled back.

"Bug?" He guffawed.

"Get out of here, will you." I tried not to laugh but he kept on laughing as he drove off.

He seems nice and friendly -I thought. There's something oddly familiar about him but I can't seem to remember where I had seen his face.

I climbed the stairs and opened the door. I barely made it into the house before a voice startled me.

'So how was it?"

I looked up just in time to see my mom relaxing on the sofa, eyes glued to the tv.

"Mum, you didn't even wait for me to get in properly."

She just flipped me the bird. "Don't waive my question away, I asked how was it?" She was grinning from ear to ear.

What is she expecting to hear. That I found my dream husband?

"How was what?" I asked. Of course I knew what she was asking about but I wasn't ready to give it to her so easy.

"The date, you silly." She snapped.

Just look at my mum! Who mentioned anything about dates when I was leaving?

"Mum! Its just Maxie." I laughed.

"And since when did Maxie start going around with a black car?" She probed further.

"Mum, you know you can pass for a detective right?" can you imagine.

"Of course baby, I can tell you're lying." She winked. "Now can you please tell me about him or don't you want mummy to know about it?" She gave me a sly smile.

"Ok." I sighed. "His name is Eddie and no, its not a date. He's my project partner. You know project stuffs."

She continued smiling. I was about to tell her to suit herself when someone came knocking at the door.

"I'll get that." My mum raced to the door, squealing like a child.

"Hello dear." She greeted the visitor.

"Good afternoon ma, you must be Sofie's mum?" A familiar voice asked.

"Yeah I am. Can I help you?"

"Eddie? Why are you here?" I asked, coming up to the door.

"Nothing much. Just that you forgot this." He handed me the project note.

What was I thinking to have forgotten it in the first place?

"Um.. Thanks." I collected the note.

"No problem. Bye Sofie and bye ma." he addressed my mom.

"Bye dear." My Mom waved at him as he drove away.

"He's so adorable and cute too." She winked at me.

"You can date him if you want." I laughed.

"You know I won't mind. It's just a pity that he's younger than I am." she joked.

"Ok mum, you're something else sometimes." I laughed as I headed to my room.
