Vera the Dragon Hybrid

First day of classes pt 2

I entered the great Hall and saw that students were hurrying into the hall all wanting to get lunch. I sat down and put a bit of mashed potatoes and some meatloaf on my plate. I didn't feel too hungry.
After finishing up my lunch and some pumpkin juice I went to see Fred and George since Shadow isn't with me and I need to get to my next class.

"Hi guys u finish?" I asked because they weren't eating. They were whispering to each other.
"Yeah. Which class you have now?"
"Transfiguration with Ravenclaws"
"Yup we're done. Fred shall we escort her?"
"Yes, I think we shall George. Ma lady?" George said bowing down.
"Follow us" his brother said copying George's movement with the bow.

I am in Transfiguration class still but it is almost done. Professor McGonagall talked a bit about the subject and then gave us a needle to transfigure to a match. I got it in a few tries and she gave me another needle. I transfigured a couple more and then a few more students got it. She is now handing out home work and it is an essay on what we understand Transfiguration is. I left with my classmates to go to our final subject for the day which is History of magic.
We have that with Slitherin and I heard they are bad. I won't believe it though until I see them for myself. I am looking forward to it and hopefully I get a good perspective of them.
I followed my classmates who seem to know where the class is. Both us and the Slitherins got there at the same time. We settled in and after a few minutes a ghost flew through the blackboard. I thought he had a message for us until he introduced himself.

" Good afternoon class, my name is Professor Binns and I'll be teaching History of Magic."
"Good afternoon professor Binns" the class said.

It had been almost an hour since class started and even though I kinda like history I'm not going to lie. The class was boring. I love learning about things in history but professor Binns was droning on in a monotonous voice that made the topic he is talking about seem a hundred times more boring. I honestly stopped listening to him like half an hour into the class. I'll learn what I need to pass the class from my textbook. Since I stopped listening to professor Binns I was observing the Slitherins. Most of them I could tell was visibly acting like all of us Griffindors, bored out of their wits. A few however were trying to look as if they were paying attention but I could somehow sense that they were annoyed and couldn't wait for the class to be over. Overall they were just acting normal. I didn't see one single behavior that could possibly make them into the most hated house. They were acting like everyone else. I stopped studying them but since I'm curious I made a note to myself to check the behavior of as much Slitherins as I can from the older classes and draw a conclusion of them.

I was brought out of my thinking by a bell ringing signalling the end of my History of Magic class. I packed up and went up to my dorm room to change out of my uniform and to put up my books.
The girls in my dorm were there already and some of them already changed out of their uniforms. I talked to them a bit before going to change. A girl with short black hair, I learned her name was Evelyn Hanes a half-blood, a next one with curly brown hair was Jessica Lawrence a muggle born and Neymiah Phelps a pure-blood. I told them about me and we agreed that after I finished changing we'll go down to the yard and do our homework.

It's now an hour later and we were finishing up our homework.
Next few minutes I was the first to finish so I closed my books and stared into the lake. We were currently sitting under a tree and the view of the lake was amazing. My friends soon finished up and we walked back to our common rooms. Dinner will be shortly so we put away our stuff and started walking to the Great Hall, Shadow right behind us.

I gave shadow a piece of meat and some milk which he ate. I also gave him some pudding since he seems to like it. I ate mashed potatoes and some chicken. I also ate two pieces of apple pie and drank pumpkin juice. After my friends finished we walked back to our common room and sat on a chair infront of the fireplace just sharing stories and laughing. Fred and George came over and I introduced them. We talked a bit before they left to plan a prank. I don't know how long we were talking but it was getting late. Looking over at the big clock that was looking very much alive and muttering something about how kids stay up too late, I realized it was almost ten. We went up and showered and went to bed. I pulled the curtains and snuggled up to Shadow. Kiara came in for a bit while I was by the fireplace and I gave her some bacon and meat that I bought up from dinner for her. She left after nibbling my ear in thanks and I know she is in the owlery.

All in all it has been a great day and I look forward to what tommorow holds. I love Hogwarts so far and It was so much more than I expected. I can see myself fitting in just fine.

Maybe no one will need to know what I am and I can actually live normally through my school years I thought.
With that last thought on my mind I fell into a peaceful sleep.
