First punishment

"Professor Snape"

"Ms. Hawthorn, care to explain why you are roaming the corridors at night. What trouble are you up to?"

"Professor, I just went for a walk."

"Save your explanation for whoever wants to hear it. I'm sure the teachers would love to hear that Ms. Perfect is up to no good."

"But professor, you didn't even..."

"I said I don't have time for your pathetic excuses. Detention for the entire of next week with me. Report at three pm sharp."

"Sir..."

"That's final. Fifty points from Griffindor for arguing with me"

"Ok sir."

"Now go to your dorms and don't let me have to speak twice."

"Yes Professor."

I admitted defeat and returned to my dorms. I knew he was keeping an eye on me to ensure I go to my dorm since I sensed it. It's not like that will bother me though, since I was returning to my dorms anyway. Under his watchful gaze, I went through the portrait and into the common room.

I plopped down on a couch infront the fireplace and gazed at the fire. I don't know how long I was lost in the flames, but eventually, I re-entered earth.

I pondered over my earlier meeting. I hope I didn't seem suspicious to professor Snape. It didn't look as though he was suspicious though, I mean that is how he behaves to any student he meets doing something bad once they are not in Slitherin.

 I admit I was in the wrong for being out late, but I think that's too harsh of a punishment for a first offence. But hey, it's Professor Snape we're talking about.

Thinking of which, that is bad that I got caught. I have never done anything bad since I came to Hogwarts. Other than the occasional break of rule by flying at nights, I can't say I have ever done something deserving punishment. I have never gotten caught. I need to be more careful, I could have been caught at a much worse timing. What if I was caught in my dragon form? What then?

I can't exactly avoid the detention, so I better prepare to do it. 

With this thought in mind, I retired to bed. This day was a bit disappointing.
