Vera the Dragon Hybrid

My birthday

I awoke to the sound of an owl screeching. That's Kiara, I thought she probably came a bit earlier. But she never screeches that loud and she wakes me up by pecking my face easily. I groaned as much as a groan as possible when you're a dragon and got up. Stretching my wings, I looked towards the still screeching owl. She looks a bit scared to see me. I suddenly recognized that it wasn't Kiara. Funny she isn't any of the owls that visit so who is she? She's scared of me. Maybe I should change back. So I did. I transformed quickly and in a matter of seconds I was human again. At my newly acquired form the owl visibly relaxed. She flew and landed on my shoulders and that's when I noticed the letter tied to her leg. Who'd be writing to me. It's Been a while since I got a letter I mused. Then I remembered it was my birthday. Maybe just maybe it's my Hogwarts letter. But who am I kidding no one wants a dragon.
I undid the letter and the owl flew off.
I closed my eyes for a fraction of a second and opened them again. I inhaled deeply and turned the letter around.
Oh my god, oh my god it has Hogwarts stamp. I was excited and tore open the letter. There was another envelope inside. I took it out and read the letter.

Dear Vera,
It is going to be a pleasure having you attend Hogwarts and I can't wait to meet you. I hope you are well. The official Hogwarts letter is also enclosed in this envelope  along with the list of supplies you will need. Later today, I will send someone to escort you to Diagon Ally to purchase your school supplies. His name is Hagrid. I can assure you that everyone here is looking forward to seeing you.

I don't think I've ever been this excited. I checked and surely my Hogwarts letter and supplies list was also in the envelope.
Kiara came flying up to me and seemed surprised that I was already awake and super excited. I transformed into my dragon and explained the situation to her and she hooted in delight. I can communicate with animals when I'm in my dragon form. I learnt this when I rescued Kiara. I was out playing in my dragon form one day and heard cries of help. I followed it and came upon a beautiful black and brown owl. She was injured and stuck in a piece of branch. I freed her and nursed her back to health. When she was healthy I told her to go back to her home. She didn't fly off and I wondered why. I let her stay with me and that night when I transformed to sleep I heard a beautiful voice ask if I can hear her. I said yes and she explained that she never had a previous owner because she never found one worthy. She proceeded to say that I was worthy and if I would like she can become my familiar. I agreed and named her Kiara. Thus begins a very good friendship between an owner and her familiar. I would communicate with her whenever I'm in my dragon form and we would tell each other stories of our lives before.

Still in my dragon form, I decided to take a nap. I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat. Since headmaster Dumbledore didn't say the time that this Hagrid will be coming to collect me, I guess I'll just ready for 10 o clock. I closed my eyes and since it was quiet I soon fell into a deeper sleep than intended.

I was awoken by a loud gasp which quickly turned into a sound of awe.

I jumped up startled since I don't get visitors. I then remembered that someone was supposed to come for me. I mentally face palmed. I probably slept away. No one was supposed to see me in this form, shoots. I looked up to see a man that was larger than normal men. He isn't as big as a giant either I thought oh so he must be a half giant. I wasn't a fan of prejudice so I hated how people judge half breeds. I find them interesting. He was looking at me in awe. When I moved forward he seemed to snap out of the trance and asked "are you by any chance Vera?"
"Yes I am. Are you Hagrid?"
"Yes, I'm Hagrid keeper of keys and grounds of Hogwarts, professor Dumbledore said I might find you here. I'm supposed to escort you to Diagon Ally," He paused and then said "you're a dragon."
I turned into my human form and continued "im sorry I was not expecting to fall asleep, so I didn't mean to startle you."
"Oh you didn't startle me. I love dragons."
"Thanks, shall we go?"
"Yer"

I like his character already. We would make great friends. I'm really looking forward to attending Hogwarts. I hope I'll manage.
