New Beginnings : 19

Hailey's pov:
Some say I was a Hollywood reject. Some say I was a failure. Some say I wasn't grateful for what I had. Some say I changed in a bad way over the years. Some say he changed me. Others say I was successful. Others say my choice was a great one. Others say I'm going to do better things and change the world. Others say he's good for me. What am I talking about you ask? Well I made the decision to quit teaching master classes, acting, and modeling all for one thing. Becoming a surgeon.
It was a sudden change that rocked the world. It was so sudden that no one expected it. I was trending number one on twitter for 32 hours. Lot's of popular celebrity news outlets tried to interview me but when I said I was done, I meant I was done. My Instagram is still gaining followers and I still post sometimes. I'm at 67.9 million followers. I lost a lot of followers when I first left, but most have came back. Not that I care anymore. My love for being in the media dimmed, and my love for surgery increased exceptionally.
     "Whatcha thinking about babe?" JJ said wrapping his arms around me from behind. I was staring out of my sliding glass door, with my wine glass in my hand.
     "Just... stuff." He put his head on top of mine.
     "I just finished packing the last box."
     "This all just happened too fast. Just 5 years ago I moved in here with Inanna. Now I'm moving out for good knowing I'll never live here again. It's just really weird."
     "I get it babe. When I moved out of the château all my memories started flooding back right before we left. I'm glad I moved in with you though." I smiled and downed the last of my wine.
I turned around in his arms and kissed him. After I pulled away he was about to kiss me again, but I walked out of his arms and rinsed the wine glass. I rinsed and dried it then turned back to JJ. He was leaning against the wall pouting like a 4 year old. I laughed slightly and wrapped the glass in protective paper, then placed it into the fragile kitchen box.
"I needed to get it in the box." I say to him. He walked over to me and threw me over his shoulder. I laughed and he brought me out to my car and sat me in the passenger seat.
"I'll get the box." I nodded and he went to grab the last box in my apartment. It was super sad but I needed closure. Goodbye LA, you were good to me.

-1 year later-

I just got home from the hospital, Grey-Sloan Memorial. I've been a surgical intern for almost a year now. JJ and I have worked some things out. Being a surgical intern comes with lots of responsibilities, and long hours at the hospital. It's been hard on both of us, but we both know that in the long run it will pay off.
John B and Sarah got married. They also had their baby. His name is Daxton Grey Routledge. He's I can't believe I'm an aunt! He looks so much like John B.
JJ proposed to me on my last day of medical school. We are getting married in 2 weeks! I have 4 years until I'm officially a surgeon. I also have a secret that no one knows about, I'm announcing it at the wedding.
Kie and Jonah are married, and Kie is 2 months pregnant! Pope and Quinn just got engaged, and they don't have any kids yet.

-Maybank Wedding-

     I walked into our after-party venue with JJ and everyone cheered. I'm officially a Maybank! We partied for 2 hours and ate a lot of food. I went out on a limb and invited some of my past families. Everyone I invited came. I invited my "After" co-stars and my friends I've met along the way. As well as my co-workers from Grey-Sloan.
     At 6:00 o' clock I stood up and walked over to the microphone. I told Sarah I was announcing something but I didn't tell her what. She knew though because she cried and hugged me. I acted oblivious at the time but she saw right through me.
     "Alright everyone. Thank you all so much for coming out today it means a lot! I have an announcement to make. I've been dreaming of announcing this at my wedding ever since I was little, so here it is." I paused and took a deep breath for suspense. "I'm pregnant!" I said smiling while I looked at JJ anticipating for his reaction. I heard cheers all around me. JJ stared at me for a few seconds then smiled. He ran over to me and hugged me spinning me around. Everyone clapped as we kissed.
"I love you!" He whispered holding my face.
"I knew it!" Sarah shouted and everyone laughed.
The rest of the day we celebrated with all the guests. When JJ and I got back to our apartment we talked about whatever came to our minds.
"Do you think I'm going to be like my Dad?" JJ asked.
"No! Why would you even say that?"
"I don't know. It's just always been a fear of mine. Turning into him. Maybe it runs in the family."
"JJ you will never be him. Luke did that to himself, being batshit crazy is not in your blood." He laughed at that. "Anyways you'll be an amazing dad. You're so amazing with Dax, I can't imagine how good you'll be with ours." He placed his hand on my unnoticeable baby bump. I smile up at him and he smiled back at me.
"I love you both so much." He says.
"We love you too." I say kissing his lips.

-8 months later-

Today is my baby shower and gender reveal. I decided to combine the two so I could save my friends and a few past family members a trip to Outer Banks. Sarah and Kie know the gender. They also planned the shower. Kie had her baby almost 2 months ago. Her name is Lilliana Madison Parker. She's the cutest little thing!
"Hails it's time!" Kie said interrupting my conversation with one of my friends from Grey-Sloan. She ran over to me grabbing my hand. She helped me up from the couch since I was almost 9 months pregnant.
     She led me out to the backyard where everyone was standing. I walked over to JJ in front of everyone. Sarah brought over two smoke bombs. One for JJ and one for me. She told us what to do so we didn't mess it up.
     "Alright are you ready?" Sarah asked I nodded.
     "Okay! 10, 9, 8..." Everyone joined in on 8. Me and JJ looked at each other and smiled. "3, 2, 1..." After one we both lit the smoke bombs it lit up instantly and hot pink smoke started coming out of them. Everyone cheered as JJ and I kissed.
     "I love you, forever and always!" JJ said holding my face.
     "Forever and always!"

-3 weeks later-

     I was overdue 4 days, so they had me induced. I got an epidural because I couldn't stand to be in pain anymore. If anyone has ever gone all the way with no epidural props to you! Another reason I got the epidural is because JJ looked defeated because he couldn't help me. It was so sad to see him like that especially with all my hormones.
     4 hours later I pushed out my baby girl. JJ cried and so did I. They made us do 1 hour of skin to skin. 30 minutes each. JJ was really nervous about holding our baby, because he didn't want to hurt her. I made him hold her anyway, because it was kind of required. He told me to get some sleep because I needed it. I nodded and quickly drifted off.
     I woke up to JJ lightly shaking me. I opened my eyes and he smiled down at me.
     "Hi." JJ said. We always did this for some weird reason. Every time we would wake up or catch the other one staring we would always do this.
     "Hi."
     "We can have visitors now baby." I nodded and he was off to get people. When he came back he was followed by Sarah, Kiara, John B, and Pope. He wanted the OG's to go first I see. JJ picked up our baby up from the makeshift bed she was laying on, and showed her to everyone. Pope and John B smiled while the girls quietly freaked out.
     "Can I hold her?" Kie asked. JJ nodded and handed her off to Kie. Sarah came over at stood beside me.
     "How you feeling?" She asked.
     "I'm okay. I can't stop shaking though."
     "Yeah that happened to me too." I nodded and looked toward the group. She was now being passed from Pope to John B. Then Addison came in. She was the OB/GYN on call today. I knew her personally because we were at Grey-Sloan.
     "Alright one last thing to be done. Do you have a name?" Dr. Montgomery asked me. I smiled as did everyone who looked at me.
     "Mallory Rae Maybank."
