Rachel's pov
Life isn't a fairytale even for a princess. I am a princess who was cursed by a witch on my 12th birthday to turn into a dragon in the day and only change back to human at night. To protect me from the people my parents kept me away in an abandoned castle away from the kingdom and since I could not control myself in dragon form it was the only way to make sure everyone was safe, including me.
Now I am 20, 8 years have passed. Many have forgotten about the princess but tales and myths of the dragon who lived in the far away abandoned castle continued spreading around. Everyone has only ever heard of the dragon in the castle but no one has actually seen or heard it or was brave enough to do anything about it because they were afraid that if the tales were true that their lives would be in danger. While not until now at least.
Jihoon's pov
I was the bravest knight in the kingdom and have protected the people from all sorts of creatures big and small. Since I was 16 I have always heard tales of this mysterious dragon who lived in the abandoned castle but I have never seen it with my own eyes. Now after years of training I am 22 and ready to travel to the far away kingdom my father sent me to see if this tale is true or just a myth. And if it were true I would slay the beast that terrorise the people and free them from fear.

After days of travelling I was finally here, on the land of the mysterious dragon who lived its days in the abandoned castle. After a night's rest I started my quest on searching for this dragon. I gathered information from the royal family and the common folk which lead me to all different directions on where the castle could be located at. Apparently it has been years since someone actually knew the actual truth about the dragon and I was on the verge of giving up. Until I met this old man living in a small hut in the forest. The common folks told me that the man was crazy and apparently a true believer that the dragon existed for real. He had claimed to hear it's cries in the early mornings. The people think that he was too invested in the myth but I decided to pay him a visit either way.
After talking to the man something inside me felt that the man was telling the truth. So far he has given me the most information about the dragon's possible location and the most reasons to back up the information. I know that everyone tells me not to believe what he was saying but in actual fact he was the oldest man living in the kingdom and if someone were to know something about this dragon it would be this man.
The next day I decided to head out on my journey to find the dragon. I got all my things got on a horse and set off. After a day and a half of travelling it almost felt like I was being played by the old man. Until I heard it with my own ears. The cries of a dragon.
I could not believe my own ears. I found it! I really found the dragon that was hidden away for so many years. And I was going to be the one who slays it. My father would be proud. I followed the sound and it lead me directly to the abandoned castle that I have been searching for. I decided that I would wait till the sun sets to make my move on the dragon as I had to get ready my weapons and amour.

The sun has finally set and Jihoon made his move towards the castle. He tried to be as quiet as he could with the metal amour clanging on the hard floor. As he approaches the dragon seems to sense his presence and rises up to see what it was. In this moment Jihoon immediately charged at the dragon and attempted to hurt it only to be smashed against the already crumbling castle walls. He got up on his feet again and charges at the dragon once again. The fight continued for a moment until Jihoon was about to stab the dragon but moved backwards in shock a fear. The dragon has stopped attacking him and slowly vanished to make things weirder there seems to be some kind of purple smoke surrounding the vanishing dragon.
Jihoon's pov
I stood there staring at the dragon in shock and fear. The dragon I was about to stab had vanished in a puff of purple smoke. I have never seen anything like it and it scared me to think would could've waiting for me when the smoke clears. But to my surprise as the smoke clears I could see a figure of a human. A girl to be exact. The dragon has turned into a beautiful defenceless girl who was now crouched in front of him covered in scratches.

I slowly looked up to the knight who came to slay me in fear. For 8 years I have lived here peacefully with no one to harm me since no one knew where I was and I didn't know how to defend myself which made me think that I was about to be killed right here right now. But he was lost and confused, I could see it in the round sparkling eyes of his. I haven't talked to a human in years and today this man appears in front of me so determined to kill me is now just standing there staring at me. I didn't know what to do or say.
After what seemed like forever he came towards me slowly and gently reached his hand out for me to hold. Was the man who was trying to kill me moments ago acting this way in order not the scare me?
I stared at his hand for awhile and held onto his hand looking at him with caution. I don't know if I could trust this man, after all he did came here with the goal to kill me. With that he took my hand and led me to the dining hall which I presume he walked pass on the way to the ballroom where he found me in my dragon form. We sat down on the chairs and he opened his mouth but closed it again for the third time. he looked like he was in deep thought and I knew he had questions but wasn't sure if he should ask them and how to ask them.
After what seemed like forever I decided to just say something. "I was cursed" i said casually, which immediately caught his attention as he turned towards me with his eyes wide open. I sighed and continued explaining my story "I was cursed when I turned 12 by an evil witch. As you saw from earlier I was cursed to take a form of a dragon and I only turn back to my human form in the night. My parents have tried every thing they could the break the curse but nothing worked. I'm stuck like this for who knows how long." "Wait did you say that you were cursed when you were 12? How old are you now?" The knight cuts me off. "I'm 20" he looks away and thinks for a bit and widened his eyes when the realisation hits him "you were cursed the same year the king and queen started keeping the princess away from the people! Could you be...? The princess?" He asked. I just looked down towards the the table and sighed "yes, I am the princess". After what I said the knight suddenly rises from his seat and bowed to me. "I am Park Jihoon from Wanna One kingdom, I have came to slay the mysterious dragon the people have been fearing and talking about and did not realised that the dragon is the princess. I am now seeking for forgiveness for my sins." He said with his head facing towards the ground. I stared at him and immediately went towards him to pull him up "there's no need for that, I understand, just tell me how's the kingdom now".
Jihoon explains to me that the the former king and queen had passed on and how the royal family has selected a new king to take charge of the kingdom. Everything was too overwhelming for me and I couldn't take it all in at once. Without realising tears were flowing from my eyes. When Jihoon asked if I was alright I ran into my room and cried even harder I could not believe that I lost my parents and my kingdom and I didn't have a single clue about it.
Moments after Jihoon found his way to my room and comforted me and dressed my wounds he caused from earlier. He was soft and caring, nothing like the knight who almost took my life moments ago. I somehow felt safe with him.
