I decided to write this story for three reasons (other than the fact that I'm a huge Star Wars geek).
Reason #1: The Trandoshan species has always fascinated me. Although, I was always left unsatisfied by the lack of exploration of the beings in canon material. They were always built up to be big and bad creatures, but we never really got to see why (with the exception of some content in The Clone Wars and Rebels). In a lot of ways, I feel that Trandoshans were given the same treatment as Darth Vader or Boba Fett (apparently characters to be feared, but with little demonstration of what gave them their reputation). Because of this, I wanted to get creative with what I always wanted to see of them. To avoid spoiling the story, I'll refrain from saying specifically what I always wanted to see them do. But, I am excited to share with you what I imagined the creatures to be like.
Reason #2: I've also always desired to explore more of the planet Coruscant. Seriously... a planet that is entirely covered by cityscape?! I mean, c'mon, there's got to be some pretty cool ideas you can create with that! When the last season of The Clone Wars revealed more about the lower levels of Coruscant, it reignited my interest in the planet and what goes on there.
Reason #3: The Prequels!!! I love this era in the Star Wars timeline. It's packed full of action, adventure, and mystery with everything from the raging battles of The Clone Wars to the hundreds of Jedi (most of who we know nothing about!). So, of course I wanted to write a story that took place during this time!
Final Remarks: This project has been a lot of fun for me. I find so much joy getting to combine my passions of being creative with my love of Star Wars. So, if you're reading this, thank you!
