Under the Mango Tree- a Luke Brooks Fan-Fic

Chapter 9

The next few days just carried on as usual. Without any interruptions or news. I had Sam back and I knew the whole Brooks’ family was back to normal after the Jason incident. Luke and I had spent almost every second together and everything seemed perfect. We hadn't thought of a way to get the farm back but we spent lots of time there and I knew it would eventually all work out. As long as I had Luke I knew nothing could go wrong .

It has been about 2 months since Julia had left . I had talked to her a couple times but her phones were having problems so we didn't stay in contact very much. Luke was at a soccer game with Beau and Daniel so I went over to talk to Jai about Julia.

" jaaaaaaaiii" I called out after letting myself in the house.

" I'm in here " he replied from his bedroom 

I walked in and saw him watching tv. I flopped myself down beside him. 

" Luke’s not going to be back for a while " he said 

" yeah I know , I wanted to talk to you " I said with a smile

" ohh...?" he said confused

" about Julia !" I laughed at his reaction 

"ohhh " he said with a smile " so have you heard anything from her "? He asked

" no, that's the problem. Her phones are taking forever to get set up ! I need to talk to her and I'm sure you feel the same way !"

" oh lord I know . I've actually been miserable. And not being able to contact her at all is making it so much worse " he let out 

I felt bad for him, he doesn’t know if she's replaced him or anything , not that she would but it's natural to wonder . 

" awuh Jai, well I was thinking that me , you and Luke could go on a little trip to visit her! " I said with a huge smile on my face.

" omygod! Yes that would be the best thing ever !" he almost screamed.

" ok well I havent talked to my mum yet or anything but I know her house has a huge basement with 2 guest rooms and her parents would be fine if it was us who came so all we need is a weekend where we can all go. " I told him.

" ok well not next week, we have a meet and greet so we can't go , and the week after is nonnas birthday and the week after..." 

He was talking a mile a minute trying to find a date that would work for all of us .

"... How about tomorrow?" he said.

I looked at him so confused 

" what ? Jai that's such short notice " 

" I know but we are so busy this month and the only weekend we have off is this one and I can't wait 2 more months. "

I knew how much this meant to him , and it also meant alot to me. I knew this would be the only time we could go .

" ok, I'll call my mum and Gina , can you look up a flight ? " I asked him 

We both raced around the house . After 20 minutes of convincing my mum she said yes and Gina was a bit easier to persuade. 

I walked back into Jai’s room and saw him smiling at his computer. 

" there's a flight that leaves in 5 hours that has 3 seats open " he said

I smiled " wow i can't believe this actually worked. " 

Jai got off the bed and started packing

“im gunna call Luke and tell him the news on my way home. When I finish packing ill come over and then we’ll leave in like 2 hours”

“okay, thanks Maddie… for everything” he said just before I left.
