The door shuts and I walk out of my room to see Harley taking off his shoes.
"Where have you been?" I ask.
"Nowhere," Harley answers, rather quickly.
I jab my finger at my brother. "You're lying."
"Wha- no I'm not!" He protests, throwing his arms out. Harley walks down to the basement and throws himself onto the sofa, face first.
"Where were you?" I demand, sitting on the floor.
Harley mumbles something incomprehensible, his face still mushed into the cushion.
"Come on, Harley, it's not like you were dealing drugs." I pause. "Unless you were, which is fine, but Dad and Pops might have some problems with it."
Harley lifts his head, and cracks a small smile at me. I grin back.
"So where were you?" Harley groans and his face hits the cushion again. "I'm not leaving until you tell me. It wasn't a big deal until you didn't tell me, and now I"m curious and want to know."
"Fine. I'll tell. But!" Harley says, sitting up. "You can't judge or say ANYTHING until I finish talking. Got it?"
I nod loyally.
"I went to the park because I wanted to meet Wade."
I stand up in outrage. "WHAT IN THE- WHAT WERE YOU THINKING! WHY WOULD YOU EVER-"
"Hey! You said you wouldn't say anything until I finished! You made that agreement." Harley interrupts, pretty calmly.
I slump back down, crossing my arms over my chest. Harley nods and continues. "I wanted to talk to him about you. He said some interesting things. I'm not forgiving him, he's a terrible person, and I hate him, but I'm not letting him or his actions define me. Plus, that boy cannot punch." Harley smiles nervously, but I glare at him.
Harley nods again, more nervously.
"I think you should talk to him. I know you still like him, you can't hide that from me, and I'm okay if you do decide that you do still want to date him." Harley finishes. He leans back against the sofa, mirroring my actions. He crosses his arms, waiting for me to talk.
I stand up, calmly.
Like the eye of a storm.
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR GODDAMNED MIND!" I shout. "HE LEGITAMANLY BULLIED YOU! HE HIT YOU! HE USED YOU TO BLACKMAIL ME! YOU DON'T JUST GET TO LAUGH THIS OFF, AND TRY TO GET US TOGETHER, HARLEY, THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS!"
Harley flinches back, fear in his eyes, in the way he holds himself. He moves his shaking hands in front of his face.
"I was just trying to help. You were miserable."
"My love life is not your call!" I lower my voice, but I'm still angry.
"I just- I wanted-" Harley stammers.
"Oh my god. Harley, I'm-" I reach my hand forward to help, but Harley moves back.
My face falls, and I run upstairs, tears pricking in my eyes.
I can't believe I did that.
AHAHAHAHA ANGSTTTTTT
