"Peter, can you get the door?" Steve asks, slamming his car into mine and sending it off the track.

I gasp at him, and walk up the stairs.

I open the door to see Wade collapse. I reach out and catch him.

"Oh my gosh! Dad! Pops! I need help!" I shout, sinking to the floor, Wade's head in my lap.

Steve and Tony run up the stairs, Morgan and Harley right behind them.

Out of the corner of my eye, I watch Harley freeze.

"Harley, is that the boy who hit you?" Morgan whispers. Harley nods.

"Peter, what happened?" Tony demanded, as he and Steve help Wade up and over to the couch. Harley holds out his hand, his eyes following Wade.

"He just collapsed." I explain, standing up and walking over to him, and kneeling by the couch. Tony and Steve walk into the kitchen to find the first aid kit. I can hear them talking.

My eyes trail over his face, and I finally notice the black eyes, the small cut on his cheek.

"Oh shit." Harley breathes. I look over at my brother, who had lifted up Wade's shirt.

I peer over and my breath leaves me.

His chest is littered with bruises ranging from a sickly yellow color to a dark purple.

"Oh shit." I echo.

"Pete, what's wrong?" Morgan walks over to us.

"Morgan, you should go to bed." I twist around to look at my little sister, who's eyes are locked on Wade's.

"What happened to him?" Morgan asks in a small voice.

"I don't know, Mor, I just don't know." I answer, looking back at Wade sadly.

{TIME SKIP MOTHER FUCKERS}

It's 11:30.

Wade's still unconscious. Or he's asleep.

It's pretty hecking cold outside, it's a miracle Wade managed to get here.

Though I don't know how he knew where I lived.

Maybe it was just a coincidence. It's a pretty lucky coincidence.

"Peter, you should get some sleep. Wade isn't going to die, he's going to be fine." Tony touches my shoulder lightly.

"No, I'm going to stay here."

Tony sits down next to me.

"You still like him, don't you."

"I don't know why! He's an awful person, he bullied my brother!"

"But..."

"But I've seen him with his friends. He was so open and happy. And he's read Harry Potter. Do you know how little people I've met who have read Harry Potter?" Tony shakes his head and I sigh.

"I know he's a terrible person, but I can tell he's not like that to everyone. He has a hard life, from what we've seen."

"You don't have to defend yourself, Peter, I'm not judging you." Tony comments.

"I just... I want Wade to wake up. I want to figure out who did this and I want to hurt them." I growl.

"Easy there, tiger, you can't go around beating up people." Tony replies.

"Why are you so calm right now!" I demand. "The guy who bullied Harley is now unconscious on our couch, half frozen, and we have no idea how it happened, and you're sitting there calmly!"

My voice gets louder, and Tony winces, and tries to quiet me.

"Pete, honey, I know you're upset, but Harley, Morgan and Steve are all sleeping and we don't want to wake them."

"Oh, that's what you get upset about!" I exclaim.

"Peter, please." Tony pleads. "What's going on?"

I collapse, my head in my hands.

"I don't know, Dad, I just feel so helpless. I've been sitting with Wade for over 2 hours, and nothing has changed! He hasn't moved! I don't know what to do anymore!"

Tears spill down my face, and Tony moves and wraps his arms around me.

"It'll be okay, everything will be okay." Tony comforts.

I sob in my dad's arms, feeling more helpless than when I found Harley unconscious on the school floor.

"Peter..." I break out of my dad's hug and look at Wade, who's eyes are opening.

"Wade! You're awake!"

"What 'm I doing here?" Wade asks, his words slurring slightly.

"You don't know? You collapsed on our doorstep over 2 hours ago." I tell him. Wade attempts to sit up, and I move faster than the Flash so I'm next to his head.

"Don't move. You're pretty beaten up." I tell him.

Wade winces and lays back down.

"Wade, what happened?" I hear my dad stand up, and back out of the room, leaving Wade and I alone.

"You've been crying." Wade croaks, reaching a hand up and brushing my cheek. My face burns red, and I duck my head.

"You collapsed on my doorstep, and you're covered in bruises." I feel tears gathering under my eyes again, and I close my eyes. "Wade, what happened?"

Wade pulls his hand away, and rests his head back down on the pillow, staring up at the ceiling.

"It's my... it's my father. He hates that I'm gay, hates that I could ever think it's natural to like another boy. He used to just hit me. Then our old town found out I was gay, I was caught going on a date with a boy, and we had to move. I was so scared that I would have to move again, especially if he found out I like-" Wade cuts himself off. "That's why I hurt Harley. Yes, I was jealous, but I wanted to push you away."

"Why didn't you just tell me!" I cry. "I would have stopped trying to talk to you!"

"My father used to tell me the only way to get what you want is through proving you're a better man. To him that meant a lot of hand to hand combat. I lost a lot."

"Wade..." I don't know what to say, before remembering. "But... that doesn't explain why you showed up at my house half frozen."

Wade grunts, and swings his legs down, moving himself to a seated position. He pats the cushion next to him, and I sit down on the couch.

"My dad saw you push me against the tree. He assumed we were, you know..." Wade trails off, and an awkward silence fills the living room.

I cough, and look down at my lap.

"But I didn't know he was there. I didn't want to go home yet, so I stayed at the park, until it was mostly dark. He came and found me. He was drunk, and he started hitting me."

I look up then. Wade's gaze is unfocused, and his eyes are glistening. I reach out and grab one of his hands.

Wade flinches, but he doesn't pull his hand away.

"He threw me out." Wade whispers to the quiet room. "I don't have a home anymore."
