THE phone rang and rang until he finally answered. "Hey, I'm sorry to bother you, but I just needed to let you know that I have an appointment tomorrow morning, and I might be late for work," Marissa said into the phone.

"Is everything okay?" Hotch's voice sounded through the phone.

"Yeah, it's just a routine checkup, I'll be fine," Marissa told him.

"Okay, I'll let you know if we have a case," He said and hung up.

Truth be told, she knew something was wrong. She just couldn't worry him. He already has so much to worry about.

She grabbed her stuff and walked down to her car. When driving to the hospital, she noticed her hands were sweaty and shaky.

"Okay, Marissa we're going to do a blood test to see if it has come back okay?" Dr. Susan McAdams had told me. Marissa held out her arm, being used to this by now.

"Now we're going to go get a full-body MRI," she said as Marissa stood up and sat in the wheelchair.

As soon as she sat down her phone started ringing.

"Marissa, we have a case. Don't worry about being late or meeting us at the round table. You'll be flown into New Mexico later, and I'll have Garcia catch you up when you get to work," Hotch said through the phone.

"Alright, thanks for letting me know," she said, hanging up.

"Everything alright?" Doctor McAdams asked.

"Yeah, just work," she smiled.

Once the scans were over, she took Marissa back to her room, where she got dressed and headed to work.

Marissa got a call from Reid while she was driving so she answered and put it on speaker.

"Hey, are you okay? Is the reason you're gone because of what happened in the field?" He asked.

Reid and Marissa had been getting really close as friends over the few weeks she's been in the BAU. During their last case, Reid and she had been out alone and she had felt super dizzy and light-headed, causing her to fall.

"I'm fine, I just had an appointment that's all," she tried to avoid his question as much as she could.

"You didn't seem fine when you fell, Marissa," he said.

"Maybe it's just my heels," she said to him.

"Heels don't make you feel dizzy and light-headed," he said, sounding a little angry.

"Look Reid, we can talk more when you're not working on a case," she said, hanging up the phone.

Marissa parked her car and headed up to the BAU. Garcia filled her in on the case and she headed to the tarmac to get on the jet.
