Katherine's POV
The four of us were gearing up for a mission. Mundane blood was being drained then sold. Izzy, my parabati, and I were getting dressed in her room. She had a plethora of distracting outfits so she let me borrow one. She was wearing a white leather two-piece which left little to the imagination. Meanwhile, I chose something a little less revealing. It was a tight black halter dress that accented the barely-there cleavage I supported.
"Izzy, Kat, let's go!" Alec hollered. Izzy chose a platinum wig to go with her outfit.
I just wanted to grab a jacket and cover myself but Izzy slapped my hand before I could. "Nahuh. You are not wasting everything we just did with one of your sweaters," Izzy scolded. I rolled my eyes before playfully pouting. She gave me her unimpressed look before shoving me out of her room.
"Hey, there, big bro," Izzy said.
"Really?" Alec asked, looking between the two of us.
"What can I say? Demons dig blondes. And doesn't she look great?"
"I feel ridiculous," I muttered.
"Of course they do, but that's white," Alec said ignoring our bickering.
"Platinum," Izzy defended. "And they don't exactly like Shakespeare, okay, Alec?"
"You two are plenty distracting on your own."
"Izzy alone could make them all give up," I said. We walked into the main computer hub to find Jace waiting for us at one of the screens. "What've you got?" I asked, hoping to stop the siblings from any more bickering.
Jace looked at us and his gaze held mine a bit longer than professionally allowed. "Nice choice, Izzy. Demons dig blondes," Jace said.
"And how would you know that?" I asked teasing him. I noticed a subtle eye twitch and his mouth upturned ever so slightly.
"How do you think?" He teased back.
"Can we focus?" Alec asked, bringing us back to the present.
"For some reason, our demon friends are killing mundanes and draining their blood," Jace explained.
"Why do they want blood? Isn't that vampire territory?"
"Lazy vampires," I offered.
We all walked into the weapons room to grab our seraph blades. "There must be something special about their blood," Izzy commented.
"What could be special about mundane blood?" Alec asked.
"You get me a sample and I'll tell you exactly what they're looking for."
"We'll have more answers when we figure out exactly who the demons are working for," Jace said.
"So, you don't think they're acting on their own?" I asked.
"No."
We exited the training room and went back to the computers. As we were walking Alec said, "they're not exactly creative thinkers, they're shapeshifters."
"This is what our target looks like," Jace said pointing at the screen.
"For now," I said knowing it wouldn't be in this form for long.
"Great. I'll get approval for the mission," Alec said.
"Come on, Alec," Jace said. "By the time you've sent that message, we'll have killed six demons."
"Besides, It's more fun to break the rules..." Izzy started.
"Then follow them," I finished.
We tailed the shapeshifter all the way to a club called Pandemonium. It changed twice before it landed on a tall brunette in a tight pink dress. Making sure our Stealth runes were active we walked past the mundanes. Jace got held up and when I turned around I saw, "Clary." Alec called for Jace and I quickly turned around so no one would catch on to my realization.
