~Loki~
Loki never got to attend his mothers funeral. It's a thing he's never gotten proper closure about, and to this day, it still haunts him. When he first told you about it, it broke your heart. Not even two weeks later you offered a camping get-away for a relaxing weekend. A little cabin in the woods that your friend let you borrow for as long as you needed. Near it, there was a little stream. Your first night at the cabin, you took him there. When he asked you what this was all about, you pulled a paper boat from behind your back. With it, came a tiny, circular candle. Puzzlement turned to realization, and he understood before you said anything what you were going to do. He lit the candle, a look of somber sadness in his eyes, and together, you sent it down the river in the boat. You watched, silent, his hands taking yours gently as it made its way slowly down the river. You'd never know his mother. Only knew her from the stories he told, but you knew he loved her. So it wasn't closure. Wasn't a cure-all. But it meant a lot. It meant the world to him that you loved him enough.
~Pietro~You were drunk. The both of you were after a fun night out at the bar. Upon getting back home, one of you - likely Pietro - thought it would be a fun idea to mess around with the candles. Which is a terrible thing to do when you're drunk. He proposed that you light as many candles as you can and time how long it took him to blow them all out while super-speeding around. Why? Who knows. So in your drunken haze, you did, enthusiastically, giggling and stumbling around the apartment as you searched for any spare candles. You don't remember much after that. You just remember that Pietro woke up with a huge bruise on his forehead and a mess in the living room. Turns out, stumbling while super speeding causes a lot of damage.
~Wanda~Wanda loves to DIY. You may not be able to tell right away, but give her enough mason jars and she'll think of the greatest things to do with them. One weekend - when you had nothing to do but wonder what to do - she suggested making candle lanterns. It was a cute idea, and you were onboard immediately. Without even planning, you went right in. And you made lots. Rustic ones with twine bows and recycled newspapers. Floating ones, filled with water and rosemary and bright red berries. Vibrant ones, with paper mâché roses and colourful ribbons. Hanging ones, Holiday themed ones. For an entire day you worked on them. It was great, seeing how much fun she was having. Comparing your best ones with each other. Complaining about how easy someone makes it look on Pinterest. And at night - when you were both DIYed out, you lit them all. It was beautiful. They flickered and faltered, illuminating the room with a soft glow as you smiled at each other, happy with your work and even more so at the company.
