Chapter Twenty five:The End: The sacrifice.

Neil's POV

" You're gonna be my escort to the gate right?" She asked

I didn't give her a reply I just smiled and she slept off.

No I won't escort you to the gate. I made the right choice for you. I can't do this. Because of me you shouldn't suffer the loss of your family.

I love you but. We don't get to have love. It may be our job to escort,take lives and other stuff. We don't have time for love.

I was told by the boss that,the only way she can continue living is if I completely erase her memories from the start, but I couldn't do that. She would go back to loving Jordan. Just the thought of them being together again stung me.

But if I don't want that to happen I have to give up my job and go into the gate. I'd loose my memories and get to the after life. I mean it a good thing,I've never gotten any rest of mind since I died. Maybe now I can.

I've made my decision,but I have to hold her once again in my arms.

Finally it was time to let her go. She was in an embrace with her parents. I stretched my hand she grabs it and I dragged her out. She should feel lighter.

After everything had happened. I took her back but she didn't have any clue what was going on.

" Where.....where are we?" She asked me. I let go of her hand and looked at her.

Those eyes, I'll miss the way they look at me so dearly, those lips, I could kiss all the time. I didn't know I was smiling.

I crashed out lips together and immediately she responded. Deepening the kiss. I slowly let her go and pecked her forehead.

I turned my back at her,cause if I didn't and I give her a look at her one more time,I might change my mind.

" I'm sorry......I can't do this. This is for your own good." I said and walked away as fast as I could.

"Neil !!!" She shouts my name " where are you going?! Are you just gonna leave me here alone!!!? Hello!!" I tried to fight the temptation pulling me back.

I snapped my fingers and disappear.

The new escort was already waiting for me beside the gate. I looked back one last time and smiled at the guy that was appointed. This is probably for the best,and then i walked in.

Narrator:

As soon as Neil got into the gate, darkness consumed Gemma for a while before she woke up at the hospital where her mum and Gina had been crying their hearts out.

Her mum holding her hand looks up at her daughter, one last time.

" Please wake up" she whispers. But no responds. She gave up finally. She turned her back,wanting to let go of Gemma's hand, but Gemma held her mum's hand tight.

" Hmm....mum?" She called out. She uses her second hand to hold her head she was having a serious head ache. She rose up from the bed.

"Princess!!" Her mum shouts. Without hesitation she gave her daughter a tight hug.
" I knew they were talking rubbish, I knew you wouldn't leave me behind." Her mum said.

Everyone else were shocked. The doctor had pronounce her dead.

Her dad rushed to get the doctor. Gina got close and embraced her sister. She was overwhelmed with joy. She doesn't have to say goodbye after all.

" Mum?.....What's going on?" Gemma was confused. " Why am I here?" She asked holding her head. It seriously pained.

And suddenly she started crying.

" And why am I crying?" Gemma was suddenly sad but didn't know the reason for it.

" It okay honey, everything's fine." Her mum assured her while rubbing her back.
Her mum and Sister kept her in an embrace when the doctor showed up.

By then Gemma had controlled her tears.

The doctor lies her down back and checks her, her heart beat was normal,her pulse normal,breathing normal....the doctor signed. What a strange patient,he thought.

" She's fine...we'll just let her stay one more day to monitor her,after that she'll be free to go." The doctor said.

" Thank you doctor" her dad said shaking hands with the doctor before he left.

" oh dear, I thought we lost you." Her dad gave her a hug too.

" I'm sorry." Gemma said. She didn't know why she did though. She was still confused. And the pain in her chest and head, was bothering her. She just thought maybe everything will be okay after today.

"What would you like to eat honey?" Her mum asked while Gina cleaned her eyes.

Suddenly she lost her memories of Neil but she had no idea.

Gemma didn't give any answer she just smiled at her mum and lies down back on the bed.

She was really sad, she just couldn't figure out why,she was suddenly crying again and the ache in her chest started again.

" It okay....it okay" she said to her self and drifts off to sleep.

Just then Deleon came in.

" What happened?" He asked, when he saw everyone state. Puffy and red eyes.

" Nothing" Gina stood up and gave Him a peck on his lips.

Her parents smiled at her and gave her the knowing look.

" Okay, didn't we leave you two alone only for a night?" Her father stood up and went close to Deleon.

Deleon didn't know how to respond to that.

" Welcome to the family!" Her dad embrace him with a hug.
" I like this dude you know. Great choice."

Gina still lost for words just started laughing. And then she gave her dad and mum a hug.

Gemma who was still asleep, in her dreams was running, and running but she didn't know why she was just running and then she realized she was chasing something,someone? She had no idea but no matter how much she ran, she wasn't able to catch that person.

She woke up panting,she had no idea what the dream meant, but she was relieved of the head ache and a little from the heart ache.

She looked around and everyone had left. It was already midnight when she checked the wall clock.

She couldn't just wait to get home and continue her life. She ignored the confusion going on through her mind.

Whatever was going on was probably for the best.
