Nightlight

Chapter 7

Standing near the window, embracing the cold weather. Heavy rain and thunder are emerging to hit the wet grounds. It's 6:00 in the morning pero itong panahong ito ang sumalubong sakin.

I rubbed my eyes and yawn. I'm still sleepy and the weather is perfect to sleep again. Tinamad din akong pumasok. I'm dialling Alina's number but cannot be reached and Ciana also.

Inilagay ko ang phone ko sa study table at muling humiga sa kama. Matutulog sana ako nang biglang tumunog ang phone ko.

"Hello?"

[Blake?]

Nanlaki ang mata ko nang marinig ko kung kaninong boses ang nasa kabilang linya. My hearts starts to race again.

Where did he get my number?

"Zopy?"

[Yeah it's me. By the way, Good Morning]

Nagpipigil ako ng kilig dito sa kwarto ko. Napakagat pa ako ng labi at hinahampas ang unan ko.

"G-Good Morning." sagot ko.

[Had a great sleep?]

I keep myself not to exaggerate dahil baya magtaka siya kung bakit ako naghehesterical. Like hello? He hugged me until the sun totally went down. A famous band member of Nightlight just hugged me? How can I imagine that! OMG.

"Yeah. Anyway, saan mo nakuha number ko?"

[Alina. She's very a supportive friend you know.] Sabi niya.

"Supportive???"

[Hahaha! Nothing. Papasok ka?]

"Really Zopy? Paano ako makakapasok kung ganito yung panahon?"

[Babe, I was just asking.]

"Anong babe?!"

[Blake! Hahaha! I'm sorry.]

Kapag ikaw Zopy di tumigil makikita mo talaga.

"Ewan ko sayo."

A long silence went his way. Until I heard him sigh.

"What's the matter?"

[I just missed you.]

Natahimik ako. I never expect he would say such thing so calmly. I'm very happy when Zopy and I are talking some random things. Kahit kaming dalawa lang ang magkasama, masaya ako. Kahit tahimik lang kaming nakaupo sa park, masaya na ako. As long as Zopy is with me, I'm really happy.

[Blake?]

"Hmm?"

[I'll hung up. I'll call you later. Tatawagan ko muna yung boss ko kung kakanta ba ako mamaya.] sabi niya.

"Okay Zopy."

After that, he hung up. Inilagay ko ang phone sa study table at humiga. I put my hand above my chest while staring at the ceiling. Ayokong mag assume na may gusto sa akin si Zopy. Maybe he's teasing me. He likes to tease me gaya ng kahapon. He keep telling me I'm cute even I'm really not.

Bumangon ako at pumuntang sala kung saan nanonood si lola ng favorite tv show niya. Si Mama naman ay nagbabasa ng libro sa kusina where it talks about stars. Nagtimpla ako ng kape saka umupo sa kaharap na upuan ni mama.

"You really love stars, Ma." sabi ko.

"Stars brings light to our darkness world anak. Just like your papa brought light to me." sabi niya saka patuloy sa pagpaging sa libro.

"Mama, are you also a musician before?" I asked.

My mama smiled. "No anak. I was just a normal girl with a dream to become an astronaut."
