Chapter_10

Memory of Roshni Continues

Before I could say anything, Ammi spoke up.

"Now she is out of danger Heer."

Heer looked at Ammi and Tithy and said, "I will stay here with Roshni Api. You both should go home and take some rest. You both look tired."

"But I want to.."

When Ammi tried to refuse to go, I spoke up.

"Ammi, you heard what Doctor said. I am fine. Heer is right. You both should go home now. You both need rest also.”

Everyone was talking but Tithy seemed lost somewhere. Finding this odd, three of us turned to her and Heer spoke up.

"Tithy, it's okay. Don't worry. Go home and take some rest. Besides, Api needs to eat. Aunty will cook for her and you can bring that, right?"

Mrs. Ayesha nodded to that and said," Right. I need to cook for her. Tithy, we should go and come within few hours. Till then Heer will be with her."

Tithy silently looked at everyone and got near me and I tried to convince her.

"It's okay sweetie. After taking rest for a while, you come back to me, okay?"

Smiling sadly, Tithy nodded to that and hugged me lightly. Then she turned to Ammi and said, "Let's go Ma. We need to hurry."

Ammi also hugged me and patted my back. When I looked at her face, she said, "We will be back shortly, sweetheart. You take some rest."

Saying this, she kissed on my forehead and left from there with Tithy.

When they left, Heer sat beside me on the bed. I looked at her with a sad smile.

Turning other side, Heer caught the sight of the flower bouquet. When I also turned to the flower bouquet, Heer got up and brought the bouquet to me and asked, "Who brought it, Api? It's beautiful"

When I replied that I didn't know, she gave me something and said, " What's this, Api?"

I was thinking who could be the sender when she got me to catch the sight of an envelope.

After thinking for a while, I opened it and got shocked seeing what was inside the envelope.

There were a note and some pictures.

The pictures were of my family which includes Heer also.

In a picture we three were with Ammi getting out of a hospital. It was the hospital where we used to go for Ammi's routine checkup.

In a picture Tithy and Heer was together sitting in a restaurant and other one was of me..alone..sitting on a chair at a roadside cafe.

Heer and I was looking at each other being utterly shocked. Without saying anything, I turned to the envelope and got out the note.

There was a writing on one side of the note.

“Some things are better left untouched.”

When I turned to note to the other side, I found another writing.

“If you keep looking for us, we will find you first.”

Before I could say something, Heer asked me, "Who do you think send this, Api?"

"I don't know." 

I whisperingly answered and tried to get myself together. Heer was again about to say something when it hit my mind and I spoke up.

“Titly” 

I was looking for her family and trying to find the reason why she was in that state that night...

While I went on thinking like that, Heer spoke up after remaining silent for some time.

"Titly is no more, Api. Our effort will not make the situation better let alone make it worse. You know it better. Then why are you going on like this?"

When I glanced at Heer, I found her giving me a pleading look to stop. She was concerned about me, about us.

Looking at her, I became silent thinking what should I do now.

I was not being able to decide anything but my heart kept telling me the same thing which was not letting me to stop whatever I was doing.

Whenever I decided to stop, my heart convinced me that I have to go on saying,

"Roshni, you can’t turn away from this problem forever. It’s right to go on trying to solve this and if it needs you to stand alone then you have to. You won’t be able to ignore it. You cannot pretend it didn’t happen to you. It’s not in you, Roshni.”

I came back to reality when my phone rang off. It was Murat Sir.
I attended the call and he asked for some files.

Taking the files from my table, I left my cabin.

Ruhaan's P.O.V.

It was lunch time. After working for several hours I felt hungry and thought of going to company cafeteria.

Entering cafeteria, I found Tithy eating with others while gossiping.

But strangely she wasn't blabbering. She was listening to others.

Seeing me, some of the employee greeted me. Greeting them, I went forward and took my meal.

I took a seat and started eating. While eating, I thought in mind, "Is she still upset or something..!"

Finishing my meal when I was leaving, I heard Tithy saying, "I always wanted to become a secretary" and got paused there....
