Flashback of Roshni Continues

.

I felt someone putting her hand on my shoulder and looked back only to find Heer.

Looking at me, she spoke up sadly, “Api, I heard all the thing. I know it’s not right but I think it’s the only way save them now. As for the family of her, Officer will keep looking for them. And I don’t think, they would mind it. As you are doing it only to save her. It's not like you are doing it only for Aunty. For her family I think, the girl is alive will be more important than her face.”

“But Heer, what will I answer Titly when she will question me how could I do this to her?” I asked Heer in lower tone but before she could say something Tamim spoke up, “Roshni, as you don’t have a picture of her, the doctor is going to face her as just someone. Won't it be the same for her? In that case I don’t think, you would be blamed for this as you are just..”

Giving it a thought, I agreed but then something hit upon me and I uttered sadly to Heer, “Where will I get the money for operation? It must be of huge amount to do the plastic surgery.”

Before Heer could say something, Tamim spoke up, “I will give the money for operation. ”

I gave him a questioning look and said, “Why will you give me such a huge amount of money?”

Getting startled at my look, he uttered, “Roshni, first save your family. You can give me back my money later. And think me as a friend who is just helping you in need. Nothing else.”

“Api, it’s not the time for discussion. Make a decision. We don’t have much of time.” Heer spoke up and hearing her, I kept thinking for a moment then nodded to Tamim.

Heer gave him a picture of Tithy over phone and Tamim left saying, “I will take care of this matter now. You go and stay with your Ammi.”

When Tamim left, I turned to Heer and spoke up, “May be we aren’t doing this right, Heer.”

While putting her hand on my shoulder, she spoke up then, “Api don't think otherwise. And we will search for her family and tell them everything. They will understand api. I am sure.”

Nodding at her, we went towards the cabin of Ammi.

It took Titly ten days to wake up after the plastic surgery.

When the bandage of her face was removed, the nurse got a mirror to her but she kept staring at her face blankly.

With an apologetic face, I got near her and spoke up, “I am sorry sweetie but I didn’t have your”

I got stopped as she turned to me and spoke up, “Who are you?”

Getting startled, I was about to move back but she held my hand tightly and asked again, “Do you know me? Who am I?”

I looked at the Doctor being all shocked and confused and he told me to follow him.

“We are coming back in a minute.” saying this, we followed doctor to his cabin.

Entering his cabin, the doctor examined the X-ray of her brain again and spoke up, “I was afraid of this. Some part of her brain has been distressed. So she is going through memory loss. The memory might come back after a while. It’s also possible that it will never come back.”

Remembering something, I asked the doctor, “What’s with her voice? It seemed to have changed fully.”

“About this I informed earlier to the police officer came with you. As the most part of her nose was damaged, I need to use Rhinoplasty. And voice change is not rare in this case.” The doctor spoke up normally.

Heer asked the doctor then, “Can we do something to get her to gain her memory back?”

“If she goes through the similar situations of her past, it may help. But don’t let her pressurize her brain. It can lead her to serious headache and eventually death in worst case.”

We were shocked hearing that. After talking to the doctor, we got back to Titly.

Seeing us, she smiled a little and asked again, “Do you know me? Who am I?”

I kept standing at a little distance with teary eyes but Heer walked up to her and answered her, “Tithy. Roshni Api’s little sister and my best friend.” and at some moment pointed at me.

Heer continued explaining her, “Actually you had an accident, Tithy. That’s why you are not remembering anything. But don’t worry. In few days, you will remember everything.”

Titly looked at me and uttered smilingly, “Api?”, I turned to her with teary eyes and she spoke up again, “Are you okay?”

Without answering her, I kept staring at her. When Titly gave Heer a questioning, Heer told her about the condition of Ammi.

I didn’t know what she felt but she called me closer and when I got closer, she hugged me and spoke up, “She will be okay Api. Don’t worry.”

Hearing that, I hugged her back and kept saying, “I am sorry.” and tears kept falling down from my eyes.

After sometime Titly wished to meet Ammi hearing that Ammi is taking the name ‘Tithy’ whenever she gets conscious.

Ammi also got out of comma in few days after that and I took Titly in my home and kept searching for the people of her family along with Tamim. But whatever I did and how much I tried, I just couldn’t end up finding anyone.

Saying all this, I turned to Ruhaan who was just staring at the picture of Titly without uttering anything.

Then I spoke up again and tears started falling from my eyes seeing the condition of Ruhaan, “I am sorry Ruhaan. I know you must be angry with me and hating me now for doing all those to Titly. But believe me, I really tried my best to find you people. I also took support from police. Tamim, a police officer along with him, I tried to find you people. Many things happened along this way with me but I never gave up. But how much I tried, I didn’t make it. I am sorry.”

Ruhaan looked up at me blankly after remaining like that for a while.
