void

"i need you to feel alive, i need you to fill the void"

lolita woke up in the crack of dawn due to another nightmare she had. simultaneously waking up alex with her screaming. she sat up against the headboard and rubbed her eyes.
"are you ok?"
"yeah i'm fine. just another nightmare."
she took the water that was standing on her nightstand and started drinking it slowly. her hands were trembling and it didn't take alex that long to notice.
"come here"
lolita laid her head on his shoulder as alex took her hands into his, trying to comfort her.
"things will get better, i promise"
"everything is so far from it right now"
alex was so concerned for her, she looked so helpless
"i know lolla, but you're a very strong person and you will get through this. and you're not alone, i am always here for you"
"i have no idea what i would do without you al, you're my everything"
"that goes both ways"
lolita hugged alex's side tightly as her eyelids got heavier
"try to go to sleep love"
they both laid their heads on their pillows but not so long after, lolita cuddled into him
"sweet dreams lolla"
"alex?"
"yes love"
"can i ask you something?"
"of course"
"have you ever thought of leaving sheffield?"
"i dunno, why?"
"I've had this thought for a while now and it's been clouding my mind"
"what is it?"
"i wanna leave everything behind and start a new life. with you."
"that's a really big step to take, don't you think we should take it slow?"
"yes. i don't wanna rush into anything"
"if you think this will be the best for you, we can go for it"
"thank you so much alex, i love you so much. but i think it's a little early to think about this. i mean, we haven't even decided on where we're gonna go. i also wanna visit my dad's graveyard sometime soon. i never got to say goodbye"
her voice cracked. she was gonna start crying alex put a few strands of hair behind her ear and wiped a tear that fell from her eye
"of course lo, we can go anytime you want"
"thank you al" i kissed his cheek. my eyelids got heavier and heavier and before i had realized it i fell asleep on his shoulder.
