The young master and his servant were making their way through the woods. The closer they got to the place, the more mysterious it felt. At least that's how Arthur felt. There was something about where they were going that made him flutter within. He couldn't explain it though.
They eventually came across a log bridge over a river. From the side it didn't seem deep. However, on the log itself, the sides are much deeper. As Alfred got onto the log, Arthur looked down towards the small valley and gulped nervously. "You okay there, Arthur?" Alfred asked. The servant could feel his nerve kick in, making him shaky. "Are you sure the log is...safe to cross?" He asked anxiously. Alfred sighed with no change to his energy. "It's the only way across unfortunately. But don't worry it is safe." He said.
Arthur saw his master retreat back up the log, offering a hand to him. "As long as you hang onto me, I'll make sure you're safe." He said softly. Arthur felt at ease from this, almost forgetting the anxiety he felt a moment ago. He grabbed his master's hand and proceeded along the log carefully. They reached the end of the log and Alfred jumped down, allowing himself to catch Arthur as he jumped down himself. Arthur exhaled in relief. "Thank you, Alfred." He said gratefully, to which Alfred waved his hand at him. "Don't mention it, buddy. We're almost there now so let's get going." He said and they continued deeper into the woods.
Arthur felt small pulses through his body. His eyes wondered around the woods to which images appeared in his head. Barely scraps of memory but he saw this image of someone running through the woods breathless, as if someone or something was running away from some kind of danger. Arthur's train of thought was disrupted by Alfred's call to him. He quickly caught up to him without looking back.
Before long, they've come across a big tree that's blooming with glowing blue leaves and flowers with smaller flower blossoming around the area. Arthur was in awe of this beautiful place and Alfred slowly approached the tree. "Arthur, this is a Vlore tree. It's the oldest tree in the whole kingdom. This tree was believed to be protected by nature spirits and a few mysterious creatures called Arnialese. An ancient species that protects these woods. This was my Mom's favourite place..." He said, placing a hand on the trunk. Arthur couldn't take his eyes off the tree.
"That's why it's a family guarded secret?" Arthur asked slowly walking up to the tree. "Yes, you could say that." Alfred answered. "I don't want anything to happen to this place. It's too important to me and my family. I figured as you are loyal and honest that I can trust you to keep this place secret and only come here if you need piece of mind." He continued in a calming voice.
"That makes sense..." Arthur said. He was about to place a hand onto the tree but retreats it hesitantly. Alfred saw this gesture and was confused. "Did you want to touch the tree? You can if you want to. Mother told me the tree has a secret element that has a soothing affect on a person when they touch the tree." Alfred said. Arthur looked back at the trunk thinking about whether he wants to do it or not yet.
Eventually he does so, gently placing his right hand onto the tree. Before he knew it, he felt a surge of energy and memories go through his head. He saw a child running through the woods, one that looked just like him. The child had a frightened look with tears streaming down his face. He kept running until he tripped right in front of a tree. A large glowing blue leafed tree towering over the frightened child. He saw a figure standing in front of the tree. A woman with markings on her hands and up her arm. She was also wearing a crown on her head. She heard a sound from behind and turned around to reveal a beautiful creature.
A woman with sapphire eyes and more markings on her body. She approached the child tenderly and gently caressed the poor child's face. Arthur felt pulses through his veins. He had been in this place before. He saw a strange creature with a crown that was so tender. HE was the scared child.
Arthur felt himself stagger backwards before collapsing. His fall was broken after Alfred caught him before he hit the ground.
The servant slowly came around after hearing Alfred call out his names several times. He was laying in his master's lap with a concerned facing looking down on him. "Are you okay, Arthur?" Alfred asked calmly. Arthur nodded and slowly sat up with a little help from Alfred. "I think so. I'm sorry sir. I have no idea what just happened. I just saw images in my head...And I saw a woman with a crown. And she had markings on her hands and parts of her body..." He said softly. Alfred thought about what he just said.
"A crown?" he asked. "Yes, a golden one..." Arthur replied. Alfred eyes widened with astonishment. "Arthur...that means...you have seen my mom..." He said. Arthur was shocked about this as well. "That's...oh my god...I can't believe what's happening..." He said in a shaken tone, but trying to stay calm. Alfred was interested about something else. "Did you feel pain anywhere when you touched the tree?" He asked his servant. Arthur looked down to his left hand before he answered.
"The back of my left hand felt strange but I didn't think too much of it..." Arthur responded. Alfred gestured for Arthur to remove his glove on his left hand. He does so to reveal the strange marking on the back, it appeared to be formed into an almost complete shape of a spade. Alfred held the left hand to look closely at it. He was looking over every little detail of the marking. Though not complete, he had a feeling it's a sign for something.
"That's really interesting..." Alfred said. Arthur looked down at the marking and then back up to Alfred. "What does this mean, sir?" He asked nervously. Expecting a response from the young master, Alfred just shrugged his shoulders in response. "I'm not too sure, I mean. Have a look at this." He said, taking off his right glove to reveal a partialy disfigured marking on the back of his own hand. "I was technically born with this. Dad called it a birthmark but Mom told me that it morphs and changes when your true purpose comes to light. I was thinking it could have something to do with becoming a king but It hasn't really changed much until I met you. It was a lot more messed up before you came as I wasn't too sure with myself. However, if I try to figure this out, I'm sure just like with both of our markings, it will all become clear." He said with a smile
Arthur nodded, looking back down to the marking of half a spade on the back of his hand.
