So I'm going to start posting chapters in multiple parts so I can update quicker. The chapters will still be the same length, but will be posted in parts. So this is Part 1.

"Cyran Canall Redek. Get down to the kitchen right now. You're going to be late for midterms!" Marella called. Savory sweet scents filled the kitchen as Tam flipped over some form of orange pancake.

Zym, Tam and Marella's 13 year old son, and Cyran's identical twin, was pouring sugary syrup all over his breakfast while quietly humming to himself. A textbook lay open next to him as he continued to study for his midterms that morning.

"Coming mom!" Cyran yelled back from upstairs. There were a few thumps before the sound of footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs.

Cyran, with his jet-black hair slightly ruffled and his uniform just the right amount of wrinkled, came downstairs. He looked so much like his father, but had an attitude one could only describe as "Keefe". He was good looking, and knew it - a bit too well.

However, Zym, their other son and identical twin to Cyran, always had his hair perfectly gelled and clothes immaculate. He was pretty oblivious to the fact that he was good-looking unlike Cyran. Cyran and him were both Shades, much to their mother's relief. As a pyrokinetic, she knew how hard it was to get society to accept you, and didn't want her sons to go through the same thing. At Foxfire as well, they both, luckily, had Tam's old mentor, Lady Zillah, to train. But to their dismay, they had to go on different days, and therefore trained separately.

"Cyran! You have midterms today! Can't you try to be a little faster." Marella told him.

"You can't rush perfection mom. I gotta look good for the ladies." Cyran smirked and sat down at the table.

"You're so full of yourself." Marella rolled her eyes, sighing as she watched her son.

"You know it." Cyran said, now drenching his breakfast in the sweet syrup.

Zym looked up from the other side of the table and said, "You really are."

"Says the kid who spent 20 minutes gelling his hair." Cyran argued.

Zym turned bright red as he retorted, "You spent even longer!"

Cyran rolled his eyes and said, "It's not the amount of time, you just have no swagger about it."

Zym shot him a confused look and kept eating, his eyebrows scrunched as he tried to figure out a come back.

Tam who'd been quiet until now reminded them, "Boys, finish up quick and stop arguing. Your mother and I have to go to Eternlia for some important business. "

"What happened?" Zym asked, sounding a bit worried.

"Probably just our new assignments." Tam said flipping over another pancake on the stove. "There's nothing to worry about."

"Okay." Zym replied, warily watching Tam for any signs of stress.

"Yeah, see. Nothing at all to worry about." Cyran winked.

"Hmm." Zym still continued to eye Tam and Marella, watching even when they were getting ready to leave.

"Bye boys! Good luck on your midterms!" Marella and Tam called, waving as Zym and Cyran began to step towards the Leap Master.

"Luck, I don't need luck." Cyran scoffed. "I'm the one with a photographic memory here. Oh, and Zym too."

Zym rolled his eyes and as the light carried the two of them away he said, "Yeah, see you."
