The rest of the weekend flies by after Saturday's shenanigans. Walking into school Monday morning is like entering the battle for the fittest. The entire student population is dressed to impress. I wasn't one of them. Today happened to be dress down day. Which I wasn't aware of.

My uniform-filled body stuck out like a sore thumb. I can't ignore was the snickering and finger pointing as I walk through the building. I'm used to this. I grew up having to deal with it.

To me it was just another day. Like I said everyone was dressed at their best. Flaunting their designer clothes and jewelry to match. It was a good thing that I'd shown up here in uniform. My band shirts and distressed jeans were worlds apart from the clothes that covered their bodies. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the revealing clothes presently on several girls I've passed thus far. Passing the entryway into school I encountered two females that seemed to battle over who could pull off the skimpiest outfit. Let me just say, neither won. The tall brunette has on a tube top that barely reaches her navel. The plaid mini skirt ends just below her ass. A smaller blonde, standing arm-to-arm with the other chick, smiles as her friend whispers something in her ear. She has on a black dress lined with small diamonds. Most of the girls in school dressed in similar fashion. Guys were breaking their necks trying to get a look at each female.

I'm halfway to my locker when Savannah appears.

"Hey girl" She falls against the locker beside mine.

I give her a quick hug.

"Hey."

I spot Melody and her friends heading right toward us. A floral dress covered her body. Her friends wore similar dresses, just in different colors. They glare at a group of nerdy students passing them. Little did they know it wasn't cool to wear matching outfits in public anymore.

A few people linger outside of English class. I glance down at my phone hoping to see a text from Anna. Neither one of us had spoken to her since Saturday. I sent countless texts all weekend. She didn't answer any of them. It crossed my mind a few times that she might have been ignoring us. I know she's too nice to ever do something like that. She was probably grounded. Her parents looked beyond mad the other night. I remember her mentioning that her parents were strict and heavily Catholic. She said she had beg her parents to come to the party.

The crazy thing is Anna wasn't rich like the rest of the people in this town. Her family were considered middle-class. It shocked me when she revealed she was here on a scholarship. I had no idea the academy even offered scholarships. From then on it was a vibe when we were together. We could relate to each other. We were both uprooted from our homes.

The first person I spot standing outside of the door is Anna and her wide smile.

"So. How did it go, you never texted back..." Savannah says to her.

Anna rolls her eyes.

"I'm sorry. My parents grounded me for a week for something I don't even remember."
