Brother Number One

The living room above

Haven blue eyes stare right at me as I say hello to the guys. I can tell she wants to spend time with them, so I wave her off. She thanks me, and I wave goodbye to the boys, who practically drag her out of the house. So, where are these brothers? And where are the other ranch hands? Do they even exist? Or am I about to be kidnapped and taken hostage...once again. Panic starts to rise up in me, but I shove it down before it can get too far. No, Rocky. Don't think about Iraq. That's an endless pit of disaster.

"Who are you?"

I look up abruptly to see a man I haven't met standing before me. He has beautiful golden skin, muscles, tattoos lining both his arms, brown hair and brown eyes. He looks young, around twenty-six, his face soft and fresh, but covered in sweat. His demeanor is intimidating but soft. He's not controlling or dominating. Holy fucking shit. He's gorgeous.

"Rocky. Rocky Azure."

"Oh, Haven hired you."

"Um...yeah. She said you needed help around the stable and barn."

"Yeah, thank you for agreeing to help. It's the four of us, so we need it."

So no ranch hands. Just me and, if these guys brothers are as gorgeous as him, four hot guys.

"I didn't catch your name."

"I'm Cade Sadler. The second middle brother. Twenty six."

Right on the dot. Nice one, Rocky.

"I'm twenty four."

"Oh same age as the youngest brother, Beck."

"And your other brothers are...?"

"Twenty seven is Reed and twenty nine is Jace. The three of them are going to be in soon, so you'll get to meet them."

"Great. What exactly do you want me to do around here?"

"Don't you want to get settled?"

"I'm not staying too long, so I'll just put my bags in a room."

"You don't want to empty it or anything?"

"What's that matter to you?"

"Nothing, just curious."

"Alright, well. It would be appreciated if you kept your intrusive questions to yourself."

"Right, of course, ma'am."

"Thank you, sir."

"Cade's fine."

"You're technically my boss, so..."

"And your boss is telling you Cade is fine."

"My apologies, sir...I mean Cade."
