Unexpected Truths

The one next to him, held out his hand for me to shake. He has tan skin, same as his other brothers, darker brown hair and hazel eyes. He's tough on the outside, but a simple Teddy bear softy once you get to know him.

"Reed."

The last, a shy guy, smiles up at me. He is quiet but relaxed. Not open with new people, which I understand. He has tan skin, once again, brown hair and blue eyes. As I look and compare the four men, you can see the similarities and differences. One similarity being that they are the found most beautiful men I have ever fucking seen. Ever.

"I'm Beck."

"As you all know, I'm Rocky. Nice to meet you."

They all nod in agreement.

"Why don't we help you get set up and everything?"

"I'm alright. Haven gave me the tour. I am hungry though, so food would be great."

"We can get that for you right away."

"Great. Haven, what room am I sleeping in?"

Jace steps forward.

"I'll take you."

"I'm not sure I asked you."

"I'm not asking you either."

"I don't like you already."

Haven slaps me on the arm, scolding me for my brutal behaviour.

"What? Isn't honesty the best policy?"

"What did Iraq do to you, Rocky?"

I suck in a breath, taken aback by Haven's choice of words. I stiffen and clench my fists, trying to calm my raging blood. Her face distorts and her body sinks.

"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have-"

"It's okay. I know I'm different than I was the last time you saw me. Don't worry yourself."

"You're going through a hard time and I just completely-"

"Not everyone needs to know that."

"Yeah, but your family is a complete dysfunctional mess, you have gone through so much trauma, and your parents don't care. You joined the military because your family sucks, they send on these missions, and you're not heard from for months. I can't imagine-"

Her one husband, Vincent, finally clamps a hand over her mouth.

"I think we all get the point, sweetheart. I think she should tell her own life at her own time."
