"As a kid, my family was strict. So strict that my parents used to use a GPS on us when we were in high school. I have two older sisters. They wanted to know where I was at all times. When I turned eighteen, I smashed my phone and joined the military. I quickly rose through the ranks, gained access to highly sensitive material, and became a threat. I am specially trained in areas of the military that aren't supposed to exist."

I look around the table for any surprised or angry reactions, but I get nothing. Just seven people curious about who I am and what I have gone through.

"Once I was able to finally be put out in the field as a ground combat military personnel, I was assigned a team. There were six of us, me included. We were all still kids, but the best of the best. We were sent to Iraq for a confidential operation that I can't tell you too much about. Our operation turned out to be more dangerous and harder than our commanders thought, so our tour, which was supposed to be three months, turned into eighteen months."

I take a sip of my water as I feel myself starting to feel like I'm suffocating. I can feel the sand in my throat. A warm hand is placed on my thigh, and I look up to see Reed. He rubs his thumb in small circles, calming me, telling me I'm safe. I feel so freaking safe.

"Our operation was going well, as well as six kids were supposed to do. Until, I'm thinking, July 8th 2019. That's when our whole mission went to shit. We were in the clear to move through a demolished village that was destroyed by ISIS or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, as most people know. All we had to do, which we had done a million times before, is check for survivors. Each house, corner, building, swept."
