I woke up to what was beginning to be a familiar room. I had decided to just stay the night, not long after Talon left. I didn't fancy walking downstairs and facing any of the guests on my way out and the soft sheets in Talon's bed were persuasive enough to make me stay. I had texted Ava that I would be staying at a friend's.
She had texted back:
"As in TALON???? Did you guys make-up?? x"
Shaking my head but smiling, I had just replied with:
"I'll fill you in tomorrow x".
Drunk me had also decided to strip to my underwear as it wasn't comfortable sleeping in a lace dress.
I looked around the room to see I was alone. I didn't remember Talon coming back. I checked my phone. To my horror the time was 10:02am. I had slept way longer than I'd intended. Luckily I didn't have work this morning.
All the guests would have left before the sun rose so where was Talon? I quickly redressed in my dress and tried to make myself presentable. Thankfully, I didn't feel too hungover, just a headache.
I grabbed my clutch bag and headed down the stairs, trying to be quiet so I didn't disturb the household.
I realised I had no idea if some of the guests had stayed or not, they could have chosen to wait out the day here. With all the curtains permanently closed it wasn't like they would burst into flames.
I could hear Talon talking to someone as I made it down the final steps. I turned the corner and walked into the drawing room to find Talon and Alistair sitting across from each other on the separate couches. Their jackets were off, waist coats were gone, sleeves rolled up, they looked like they had had a big night.
"Isn't it a little late for you guys to be up?" I joked, jumping in before either of them could speak.
"Had to make sure this one celebrated his birthday properly once the official party finally left." Alistair said grinning. Talon groaned and laughed. I raised my eyebrows in question but Alistair was up patting my shoulder,
"Don't worry, he's still in one piece" he laughed.Looking closer, they both looked tired and hungover. Neither of them had clearly slept. Talon, who had already looked tired last night, now looked exhausted. His eyes were still a stormy grey.
"I'm going to sleep for the next fourteen hours." Alistair announced, saluting us both and then disappearing. I laughed, the vampire was definitely growing on me.
"You look like shit." I teased once Talon and I were alone. I came and sat where Alistair had been a moment ago. He chuckled, rubbing his face.
"You haven't slept, have you?" I confirmed, smirking. He shook his head, looking tired but happy."And you stuck around," He noted, smirking.
"Well, you know I couldn't resist the feeling of those soft sheets." I joked. "Actually, would it be ok if I brought some clothes here?-just in case if I do end up staying over- so I can-" I started rambling, but Talon interrupted me.
"Wait, are you saying you slept in my bed in just your underwear, miss?" he joked, mock-shocked.
"Had I known, I definitely would have come to bed." he said, smirking. I rolled my eyes but smiled.
"Yes, of course." Talon said, seriously. He closed his eyes and leaned back against the couch."I think you need to get some sleep," I said, standing up. He made a noise in agreement and also stood. He was in front of me in a second. He kissed me on the forehead smiling.
