Talon dropped me off at Ava's just before 6:00pm. We'd continued to try to piece the mystery of Severus and Morgan's plan together but to no avail. He'd made me promise to try and focus on the good things in our life. If we let our guilt, stress and sadness drown us then we were letting Severus and Morgan win, he had counselled me wisely.
There was also the unspoken fact that if their plan actually came through, we had limited time left.
We'd been through so much together, I didn't want to waste another minute letting Severus and Morgana dig their hooks of despair in further.
Talon walked me to the door and stopped at the threshold. He, of course, couldn't enter the house without the home owner's permission, which Ava had never given, not that she had had a reason to before.
I walked back over the threshold and lifted on my toes to plant a kiss on his lips.
"Sorry. No entry vampire." I teased. Talon smirked and snaked his arms around my waist, pulling me closer against him.
"Watch it witch. I could have my fun here at the door if needed." he teased back.
His lips were hot on mine then and he kissed me passionately. He pulled my hair tie out, freeing my red hair so he could run his fingers through it. His lips trailed kisses down to my neck and I gasped when I felt his breath on my neck. It had been what felt like ages since he'd kissed me like this, now with no worry of the blood-rage taking over we were free to lose ourselves in each other.
I was regretting that Talon couldn't come in now. We definitely couldn't continue to stand here on Ava's porch, putting a show on for the street.
Talon released me then, sensing my dismay. He smirked, his piercing blue eyes a little darker than normal reflecting the lust he felt.
"I'll come by tonight?" I said a little breathless and grinning.
Talon continued to smirk and kissed me once more on my lips, making me want to throw my arms around him, push him to the floor and undress right here and now, neighbourhood be damned.
Talon's expression said he was picturing a similar scenario.
Keep your hormones in check, jeez! The world is on fire, remember? An ever annoying voice reminded me.
For a blissful moment I had forgotten about everything.
I sighed, letting reality crush my sexual fantasy.
"I don't know what time I'll be around. This is an SOS meeting as far as I understand so I have no idea when it will finish." I said, taking Talon's hands in mine.
"You are welcome at any hour." Talon said, his eyes gradually turning back to their normal blue before my eyes.
"I love you." he said simply, but there was a tidal wave of emotion behind it."I love you too." I responded, my heart jumping.
Chances were, our secret would soon be out. There would be multitudes of witches and vampires that detested our blood-bond and relationship. We would have to fight them trying to break us apart. I mentally sighed at the road ahead.
"We'll get through this." I promised. "No ancient laws or stuffy council will change our history and our feelings for each other." I said, throwing it to the world.
"We've won over my mother too, so that's gotta count for something." Talon added, smiling. The acceptance and support of a Royal would surely count for something. This gave me a little hope.
Talon brought my hand to his lips and kissed me then, a gesture from a time past that made my heart stir.
He walked back to his car, his piercing blue eyes twinkling, a smirk back on his lips.
