I was in shock.

The kind witch who had risked her life for me and the broken, tortured and scared woman I'd seen in my visions wasn't here. She had never existed.

Morgan had set this whole thing up. It had been a trap and I ran straight into it.

Morgan's psychic attack on Al ceased and he collapsed on the ground, breathing hard. He looked at Morgan and then to me, my haunted face must have been telling.

This was all my fault. I had been fooled. And I had dragged my friends into this mess.

"The visions..." I stammered, pathetically.

"Don't beat yourself up about it, darling. My illusions can be very convincing." Morgan said, coming to stand right in front of my protective sphere, laughing. The sound was unnerving and made my stomach turn.

"I've been keeping tabs on you Leina ever since we met. I know about the blood-bond." She sang and my eyes widened. How was that possible?
"We needed to have another chat with Talon you see-" Morgan said, her green eyes inspecting my protection spell.

"-You knew she couldn't stand by and watch a fellow witch be killed and you knew I would come in her place," Talon croaked out, finishing her sentence. Al had cut the gag from Talon's mouth with a dagger he now held.

"If anyone else moves, I'll send a thousand tiny needles to pierce your brain." Morgan said deadpan, challenging Al to untie Talon further. The pain still recent, Al slowly raised his hands, jaw tight. Talon was glaring at Morgan, his eyes black in anger.

Morgan walked over to where Severus was standing, a smug look across his face despite the fact he was impaled by a sword.

She pulled the sword out from his chest and he gasped in pain.

"Thank you my dear." Severus said as he grunted in pain. Unfortunately it looked like being stabbed was a mere inconvenience. His hand lightly traced Morgan's face as they shared an evil smile.

"You're working with him? Why?" I accused, still in shock at this complete 180 shift. Morgan turned to face me and smiled darkly.

"Witches ruined my life and caused me great pain, They are no friends of mine." She said bitterly, a haunted look passed her eyes.
"You wouldn't understand...or maybe you do," she said, turning to look between Talon and I, smirking.

"I'm not a traitor to my kind, if that's what you're implying." I answered as I released my protection spell, my blood boiling.

"Aura, I call to thee!"

I summoned wind and immediately a strong gale wind blew into the tent. I ran towards Morgan, dagger in hand, my anger, despair and shame at being deceived driving me to attack her, despite better judgement.

But she was unfazed. She appeared in front of me, hair whipping in the wind. She grabbed me by the neck, pulling me slightly off the ground.

She was so strong, stronger than any human or witch I'd met. As I started to choke, the dagger dropped from my grasp and my elemental control faded. The air grew still once more.

"Now, Now. Ladies, we must not fight." Severus drawled, an amused expression on his face. Morgan smirked and let me go. I stumbled back, coughing.

"It's true. He's a Pureblood." Morgan said instead, turning to face Severus; back to business. Talon swore and hung his head, Al stood up protectively and Severus laughed.

A pureblood? What does that mean? Are they talking about Talon? Was that another word for a vampire of the Royal bloodline? My frantic mind tried to keep up.
