STEVIE STARK is a genius. She has worked hard for everything that she has achieved during her adolescent years, and accepts little help or encouragement from those around her.
She's always been told that she's 'so much like her father;' which is startlingly correct. In fact, she's so similar to Tony that you'd hardly believe she's never met him.
She exceeds the expectations that others have set for her. She thrives in any and every aspect of her academic performance. And, of course, she listens to AC/DC while she works.
But she'll never know what her father was like. She'll never laugh with him as they work late nights in their lab; she'll never hold a flashlight for him as he scolds her for moving it out of place.
She'll never stand awkwardly on the porch as he and Peter chase away teenage boys; she'll never hug him; she'll never cry with him; she'll never smile with him.
She'll never be with him. Never.
Knowing that she'll never see him, love him or know him pains her, but it drives her to be stronger and gives her ambition and purpose when she works.
After fifteen years, she's had enough of it. Enough of longing and waiting and hoping.
