Katsuki Bakugou threw open the front door, slamming it behind him, storming off down the street. He was sick of the old hag treating him like he was still a kid, and needed to take a walk to clear his head. He didn't really know where exactly he was going, he just wanted to get away. He felt a drop of water land on his nose, and shortly after, it started to downpour. He growled a little and pulled his hood up.
Walking down some streets, he found himself at the small bridge that crossed a fairly large river with a strong current. He was about to walk past it, when he heard someone singing quietly. He looked over to where he heard the voice and saw a figure sitting on the railing of the bridge, kicking their feet in the air, staring down into the water. He walked a bit closer, seemingly intrigued by them.
When he was close enough, he could hear the lyrics they were singing, but he didn't recognize the song. The person took their phone from their pocket, tapped a few things, and then put it away. Bakugou squinted and saw just before they had turned it off, a screen that looked similar to an "upload video" screen on YouTube. Bakugou listened when the person's voice grew louder, and their singing was faster.
Listening to the lyrics properly, he could hear them saying sad things such as "I'm scared to live, but I'm scared to die" and "I wanna feel something, I'm numb inside." He thought he recognized the voice from somewhere, but couldn't quite place it. He slowly walked closer and as the song ended, their feet stopped kicking the air, and their grip on the railing loosened. Then, to Bakugou's shock, they started leaning forward.
Without even thinking, Bakugou closed the distance between them and grabbed their wrist, stopping them from falling. They looked up to see him, looking at them with scared eyes. He pulled them up, making sure they were safe, and then looked them in the eyes.
"Look. I don't know who the hell you are, but you don't go jumping off a fucking bridge like that. Not on my watch," Bakugou said with a glare. They nodded, keeping their head down. "What the hell were you thinking? Why would you even try you stupid shit?" Bakugou asked.
"Because... This life just isn't working out for me anymore..." They said quietly, still avoiding eye contact. Their phone vibrated a couple times, so they reached into their pocket and pulled out their phone. They skimmed all of the new incoming texts, emails, and YouTube comments. They let out a small scoff, putting their phone back.
"I'm sorry you had to witness that. I thought I was alone. Can you go now though, I need to disappear before anyone gets worried," they said, looking back to the water below them.
"Like I'm letting you kill yourself you little shit. If it sucks so much back home, then go somewhere else," Bakugou said, turning around and starting to head back to his own home.
"That's the thing... I have nowhere else to go." Bakugou turned back around, staring at the teenager.
"What school do you go to?" He asked.
"UA High... Like most everyone in this town..." They answered. Bakugou didn't believe them, but decided not to mention it. He grabbed their wrist, dragging them away. "Hey! What are you doing?!" They tried pulling away from him, but his grip was too strong.
"If you have nowhere else to fucking go, then come with me at least," Bakugou said. He didn't understand why he wanted to help this teen, but he couldn't help himself. There was something different about them. Maybe it was because they didn't look as useless as most everyone else. Whatever the reason was, Bakugou knew he had to protect them.
