Katsuki slowly approached the bridge, seeing (Y/n)'s figure hovering over the railing, staring out at the water. It was fairly early in the morning, so it was easy to see them. The wind blew their hood backward, their (h/c) hair blowing a little. They dropped their gaze to the ground, stepping away from the bridge. They hadn't noticed Katsuki yet.

(Y/n)'s mind was ablaze, and they were filling to the brim with regrets. But, they had to do this, right? It was for Kaori. They had to save Kaori. Hands shaking, they reached into their pocket, pulling out the old, crumpled sticky note and pencil. They wrote down one last goodbye on their note, then stuck it on the railing.

They heaved themselves up onto the side, their legs dangling off the edge. (Y/n) had been here not even two days before then, yet here they were once again. And they hoped it would be the last time.

(Y/n) closed their eyes, taking a deep breath, the overwhelming smells of the Earth took over them. The smell of the grass on either side of the bridge, recently mowed. The smell of the fresh pastries at the bakery around the corner. The salty scent of the water below them.

They opened their eyes again, looking at the world around them. The world was so beautiful, how had they not noticed? They were never able to enjoy the world for what it had to offer. They always thought the world was against them, so they never gave it the chance to prove itself worthy enough.

In that small moment of security, (Y/n) found themselves overwhelmed with sudden emotion. Tears streamed down their face, and they wouldn't stop. They choked out a couple sobs, squeezing their eyes shut and pulling at their hair.

Katsuki carefully approached them, placing his hand on their shoulder. They flinched, looking up to meet Katsuki's gaze. At first, their expression was angry, but it didn't remain that way for long, as they broke into tears again, turning around on the railing to wrap their arms around him.

Katsuki picked them up off the railing, placing their feet on the floor of the bridge. (Y/n) cried into his shoulder for a minute, until Katsuki decided it was time for his ultimate plan.

"Walking out of town... Looking for a better place.." He started singing. (Y/n)'s head quickly raised in shock, their mouth slightly agape. "Something's on my mind... Always in my headspace. But I know someday I'll make it-"

"Out of here.. Even if it takes all night or a hundred years.." (Y/n) continued with the chorus.

"Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near. Wanna feel alive outside I can't fight my fear.." The two pulled away from one another and began to walk in circles around each other as they continued the chorus in unison. (Y/n) took the next couple lines.

"Isn't it lovely? All alone. Heart made of glass my mind of stone."

"Tear me to pieces; skin to bone," Katsuki put in, stepping closer to (Y/n). They followed suit, and once they were close enough, they took Katsuki's hands into their own.

"Hello. Welcome home," they finished in unison, gazing into each other's eyes. Katsuki subconsciously began to lean in, and (Y/n) did the same, their eyes fluttering closed. Their lips connected in a small, sweet kiss. As they pulled away, (Y/n)'s eyes opened again, and they squeezed Katsuki's hands lightly. He gave a small chuckle.

"I learned that song just for you, so be grateful," he huffed. (Y/n) cracked a small smile, but it quickly faded. "I don't even get a full smile? Damn, I worked hard on that you know."

"Yeah, you probably rehearsed it while looking for me," (Y/n) said, rolling their eyes.

"Aah, there they are; the.. (Y/n) I know. And though you may be right, it didn't take me very long to find you. I knew where you were before I even left the house."

"I'm that predictable, huh?"

"No doubt about it." Katsuki smirked. (Y/n) let out a small gasp, playfully punching his arm. He laughed, ruffling their hair. "Ready to come back to our place?"

"Our?" (Y/n) raised an eyebrow.

"Well you got nowhere else to go, might as well start calling my place your own," Katsuki explained. A bright, genuine smile spread widely across (Y/n)'s face. They wrapped their arms around his torso, hugging him tightly. Katsuki tensed slightly, before relaxing and returning the gesture to the smaller teen. He rested his chin on the top of their head.

"Thank you, Katsuki.. Thank you..." They let go of him, pulling back a little. They looked to the railing, the water, the sticky note on the side, then to Katsuki's eyes. They walked to the railing, picking up the sticky note and shoving it back into their pocket. "Let's go home."

"(F/f) for lunch?"

"We had (f/f) yesterday."

"So?"

"Good point." The two walked in silence back to Katsuki's, now also (Y/n)'s, house. As they went inside, (Y/n) smirked slyly. "On a side note, you're a damn good kisser," they muttered loud enough for Katsuki to hear. His face brightened, and he looked away to try and cover it.

"Yeah huh, you too, or whatever. Not that you're better than me, I'm way better than you, but you're still pretty good..."

"I can never tell if you're self-conscious or narcissistic. They're the complete opposite, yet you're sometimes both at the same time," (Y/n) noted.

"What can I say, I'm unpredictable."

"Hundred percent." Katsuki rolled his eyes at (Y/n)'s obvious sarcasm.

"You can never tell what I'm about to do, the hell are you talking about?" He asked, turning to face them.

"Well, most of the time, I actually can tell," (Y/n) said, closing the front door.

"Then what am I thinking right now, hah?" Katsuki asked, placing his arm against the door, his natural glare piercing through (Y/n). They looked up so their eyes met his, backing up into the door.

"Hmm, hard to say. You either want to blow my face apart, or you really want to kiss me again. Which if it was the second option, you wouldn't admit it," they guessed, looking down to the floor to avoid eye contact. Katsuki sighed through his nose, backing away from (Y/n).

"I refuse to be that fucking predictable," he huffed, turning around and walking up the stairs.

"Yeah huh. You're a good singer too, by the way. We could totally duet together sometime," (Y/n) suggested. Katsuki smirked, but didn't turn around or say anything.

(Y/n) took a deep breath, looking around the room. They were still in shock that this was going to be their house for God knows how long. That meant they could do whatever the hell they wanted.

They went straight into the kitchen, immediately raiding the fridge of pretty much anything edible. Searching the cupboards next, they found the chips stash and took about six different bags, carefully bringing them into the living room and setting them on the coffee table.

Katsuki watched them from the top step where he sat, a genuine smile greeting his face. His lips parted and let out a slight chuckle, his eyes closing and head shaking side to side. Pulling himself up using the banister, he entered his room and closed the door behind him.

He couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why he cared so much for a lowlife like (Y/n).

Maybe it was because he actually looked up to them. That's why he hated the person behind the screen name Glitch. He envied them. Aspired to be them. The sad part is... he knew that his dreams were crushed. Crushed by the force of reality weighing on him.

Fate had brought him to that bridge on that day. Fate wanted him to realize how his dream was never going to come to fruition. And it was for the better. He could move on. After spending sixteen years of his life fixed on one goal, he could move on; experience other things in life. Because there was more to life than being famous. So much more. And (Y/n) was his living proof of that.

He hated to admit it, but Katsuki needed (Y/n) just as much as they needed him.
