Aurora
Another day passes. More and more morers have come to start working for the courts. Our court has gotten the most new workers. No doubt to be in preparation for my future husband and I. I hope to see the morer boy here. He looked just around my age if not older so he should at least be put into training here. I haven't had any luck lately but I can't give up. Curiosity gets the best of me.
So far the morer workers that are new to my court all fly or can blend-in to their surroundings. I heard of some that have enhanced balance but I haven't met one personally.
I need to go back. I know where the boy lives. I can just sneak out with Bray or Ve like usual. I'll probably take Bray, he'll ask less questions. I just need a name. Then I can grab his records and see what court he works for. My wondering thoughts get cut short by a tall, blond boy.
"What are you doin there my little shadow," Adrien speaks in his normal, deep tone of voice.
"I said to never call me that or else."
"Or else what?" He knows my ability and what I can do. What is he trying to pull out of me?
"You know what electricity does to your body. Do you want that feeling up your spine?" I raise my hand showing small blue sparks that trace by fingers. Adrien steps back a step.
He moves around. His feet trying to find a place to stay. He's nervous, but why? "Your mother sent me to bring you to her. Our families are discussing what will go on at Kingstrium. You will have a practice walk through Thursday evening with me in placement of who will win the crown." That stupid crown. That's all he wants out of me. Sometimes I wonder why he has had a crush on me. Royal weddings show nothing but power. Love is not in my future.
"Why can't someone else take your place? Shouldn't you prepare for the showing Friday?" He looks shocked. Being told that I would like someone else in his place isn't new.
"Standing by your side is the most prepared I can become," his mouth turning into a grin. "Shall we?" his arm extending and bowing to me. Metal pendants start forming over his courting top. Fake pendants for fake wars. Silver and glimmering. Most likely made of soft, liquid metals to seem as a normal top.
I step ahead to go to my room to change into to appropriate attire to see my parents. A long, glamorous dress lays on my bed. Colors of my court of course, white with an ombre of blue at the bottom to represent the color of my lightning. Thigh down is a loose silk where it starts to become a midnight blue. It has emerald and amethyst earrings set aside to show my families colors of ability. As always, a bronze ring for Eve. I ignore the dress but put on the ring. My closet is filled to the brim with clothes and I see the perfect dress. A romper dress. All black besides the steel blue ends. The top cuts down the middle and ends just above my mid stomach. I add cobalt earrings and raven heels that make me taller than I already am. My hair is in its natural wavy form tied into a loose crown braid. The tiara I only wear when I go to political meetings I put on. I use the lights to make my skin and gown glow. Ready.
I walk out of my room and Adrien turns to me. His eyes widen and he opens his mouth to say something. I beat him to it, "Save it. Lets go Adrien. I'm not in the mood to wait." I walk ahead of him as he stays staring.
"Yes ma'am." We start walking and he eyes me up and down, "I see you didn't like the dress I picked out," he chuckles to himself and looks down smiling with teeth.
