Aurora
I knew there were others like him. I'm not a stupid court girl. I ask, "Are there any you know?"
Layden looks down thinking, biting his lip. He's debating whether or not he can trust me, I don't blame him. "Y-Yes I know some, but you cannot tell anyone. I can't lose the people I love."
Layden
(I accidentally wrote the rest in the wrong POV so here's this. It'll be the only one like this)
Aurora stares at me with her sparkling blue eyes, full of wonder. A smile spreads across her face, "I knew it! There had to be others, there has to be more people with special gifts!" she excitingly assures herself. "Why would I tell? I haven't told anyone about you, have I?"
I look down, "No, I guess you haven't."
"Spectacular! What can they do? Are they like us? Can they do more? I know you are more powerful than Court Cyrus," she stares at me with so many questions.
"Well I know of only a few. My closest friends are like me though. They can teleport and cancel a person's senses," Aurora's mouth drops. "A few others I've only heard about is shields, screechers, and illusionists. Now lightning I guess too, then me of course. But I know there has to be others."
Aurora looks back to the sea, astonished by what she has just heard. Seems like she doesn't get to here things this exciting often. "Layden, this could totally change everything. People of the Court believe themselves as kings compared to morers when some are so much more powerful than them. Someone can be even more powerful than me."
"Yeah, I guess so. Although I don't know what this all can mean. We've stayed hidden in the dark so you people don't try and kill us just because we pose a threat. Its not like a few powerful morers can fight against thousands of court people," I scoff. The world can't change, they won't accept people with abilities as high as the royals. They'll simply kill us off and threaten the rest of the morers. Aurora seems to believe otherwise. She is a hopeful girl, hopes to make change when she rules. Maybe thats why the people so badly want her to be Queen. Rather her than be stuff with her father any longer.
She looks back to me, "Change will come. Things are starting to feel different ever since I met you," she pauses and takes a breath. "I want to figure out who sent a lightning bolt. It was like they were answering me. You're not alone."
I take a moment and think about it. "Where did you see the bolt exactly?" I ask.
She points ahead, "That way, towards the Paloma Islands. I don't know which of the two it was from though."
My brow furrows, "There are Islands in Evlana?"
Aurora turns to me again, "Yes, wow they really don't teach you people enough. Courts Primree and Raven live on them. Primree natrilings get lots of practice with turning their island into a beautiful scene. Raven animins get lots of practice with controlling the animals. Their main task is to use them as spies or protectors for when they come to the main lands."
"My mother worked for Primree. She can heal plantlife, but she never mentioned it was on an island."
"Not all morers who work for Raven and Primree reach the island itself. Some stay on the docks or the gardens there." Aurora pauses and looks up like a lightbulb lit up over her head. "I know how we can find the morer with the lightning!"
"How could we possibly do that? Kingstrium is only in a few days. They'll never let you leave," I say.
Aurora shakes her head, "But there is a way. Tonight people are going to the islands to see if either court has contesters for Kingstrium. The rehearsal is tomorrow and they like to have the families and suitors there to see what shall occur. We can go with them and sneak away. They would love for me to go and convince them to bring more suitors."
"I guess it could work Aurora," I say sheepishly. It will be wonderful to find another powerful morer. Worst comes to worst we don't find them and move on. "What time will we be leaving?"
"Around six, just after dinner," Aurora turns to walk away but stops. She turns her head slightly towards me, "And please, call me Rori." Aurora turns back and walks to her chambers. Rori.
----------------------------
*I am adding a few new courts as I'm realizing I didn't make enough. So notice that*
Dinner was extravagant as usual. Its 5:30, I go to Rori's chambers to take her to the Makani landings. The jets there have the best pilots, Makani Aireins and Audra Storms.
Troyen Silencers are near the entrance of the palace for the trip. Instead of the usual two, they are bringing six since Rori is tagging along. There wasn't much fuss about her going to Paloma after she explained her reasoningQuite brilliant if you ask me.
I reach Rori's door and knock. The door swings open to reveal her in a long sleeve, black dress fit to her body that flows out around her knees. Navy blue ends to signify her ability and how easy she could kill them all. She's deadly. Hiding in plain sight and able to electrify the enemy without them even seeing her face. Her crown is the same as yesterdays. I've learned the white gems are to represent her shadow power.
"Ready to do this Layden?" Rori speaks confidently. To meet the morer who possibly shares her ability or Ciana Brights ability.
"Sure, so ready," I say. I'm honestly afraid. We can't stay long and we may never even meet them. We'll see.
-------------------------------
The trip to Paloma isn't terribly long. Less than an hour and when we reached the islands, the sun was going down. I've never seen a more beautiful sunset. Rori says it's so much more vibrant on the islands because of the courts lovely plantlife.
I follow Rori wherever she goes and we both search for a perfect time to sneak away. Primree has two children for Kingstrium and Raven has one. I can't remember which but I know there is two girls and a boy. They had tried to convince another from each court but they were already betrothed to connect Primree and Raven to strengthen the islands.
Aurora looks to me while her mother and a lady of Primree speak. "Mother, I would very much like to go and speak with the Primree children again."
Queen Liarla turns to her, "Go ahead Shadow. Bring your guard come back very soon." Her answer is very loose and distracted. She jumps back into her conversation with the lady.
Aurora and I start walking. "So Shadow? What's that?" I ask her.
She rolls her eyes, "Just a stupid nickname my mother gave me because of how poor I am at my shadowing ability. I usually leave a shadow behind if I am not focused enough."
"Ah, got it," I chuckle. Rori elbows me in the ribs. I wince a bit.

The search didn't go anywhere. Rori and I asked morers if they have heard of such ability but they all either ran away or said no. One said they heard of them, Reed his name was, but were at the end of the island which w did not have time for.
We started boarding back onto the jet and a flood of morers came to watch. As people were getting loaded back on, Rori stayed back for a time. She turned to the crowd searching one last time for the boy. I did as well.
In the front of the crowd was a tall man, younger 20s. He stood out more with a red jacket. One hand was in his jacket and one at his side, he twirled red lightning in his fingers. I nudge Rori.
"Rori, look at the man in the red jacket. In the front," she looks out again and gasps.
The man still stares at her, it looks like he smirks and then turns away.
"Layden, it's Reed. He's real," she turns back to look me in the eyes. "He's really real."
Yes I know this chapter was longer but the way the rest of the story is set up I needed this done haha. Idek if anyone reads this story anymore but I like to write it. So please, if you read this comment or star is :)
