I sent the comic to Beth and she added the art back within a week. It looks amazing. Have I mentioned how much I love Beth? I send the work off to the publisher and they love it. We are given another bonus with a much shorter window. Two months for the next issue.
I get a text from James, in which he tells me that he talked to Mel. As soon as I am ready to come in, they will find my parents. I look at Fate and I know I should. Taking a look at the calendar, I realize that a year has passed since we lost Lea and Rose. So much can happen in so little time. Maybe by this time next year, I will know where my DNA comes from.
I exhale and text him a reply. Okay, I will be in on Monday. Send me the address. I hit send. Then I look at my daughter. She looks up at me and smiles a real smile which lights up her whole face and mine.
